Of all of the few convictions that came out of this Russian investigation, Flynn's was always the most weakest of them all. He never should've been charged but they needed something to keep the investigation going. It was far from the government's finest moment and a pardon is a fitting end to a saga that never should've happened in the first place.

I never said anything good about the guy - frankly, I don't think very highly of him at all. But that didn't make it right to try to lean on the guy and his family in the pursuit of dirt on Trump. The feds abused their authority when it came to pursuing charges against Flynn - just because Flynn isn't a choir boy doesn't make that a good thing to do.

Barr made the move in October, two weeks before the election, according to a letter he sent to Congress on Tuesday. The attorney general said he appointed Durham as a special counsel "to provide him and his team with the assurance that they could complete their work, without regard to the outcome of the election."
