Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Re: Wheres the Republican alternative to ACA?
I think this failure by the conks will set up the donk single payer platform quite well. donks will claim they will solve the imploding obamacare with single payer, and those on the gubmint healthcare dole will gladly go along with it...and conks will run on a "no, we really really really will repeal obamacare this time, we mean it" platform which will appeal to pretty much no one.
I'm just glad me and mine will have the coin to skip the line and pay cash for our medical needs when single payer is finally the law of the land.

Democrats: Obamacare is failing. Yes, it's a great law that's done great things and saved many people. As wonderful and Star-Spangled as it is, it's failing. SO,we're scrapping it for Single Payer. Trust us, this will work. Republicans want death panels.SDHornet wrote:I think this failure by the conks will set up the donk single payer platform quite well. donks will claim they will solve the imploding obamacare with single payer, and those on the gubmint healthcare dole will gladly go along with it...and conks will run on a "no, we really really really will repeal obamacare this time, we mean it" platform which will appeal to pretty much no one.

Obamacare isn't failing. It's also not doing much to fix the drain on the economy, control pricing and it's almost seems like it's decreased efficiency if that's possible.Ibanez wrote:Democrats: Obamacare is failing. But a number of people were truly saved by it. I know a couple personally who would have gone bankrupt. It's nice if you have "coin to pay cash for medical needs" especially when you're not healthy. I'm glad I didn't have to with my youngest's kidney problems, assorted treatments, and surgeries that ran over $40,000 when he was an infant.
Not everyone can pay 100's of 1000's in cash.

We might be sacrificing quality when government gets involved in paying for a commodity?

Righties have no qualms with spending $7 billion/month for 'overseas contingency operations' (plus giving gazillionaires 100s of billions of dollars in tax breaks) but turn apoplectic when it comes to $7 billion/yr for lower-income Americans to purchase private health insurance.
