I don't disagree with your 3 points, I just think it will be interesting to watch it play out.

You would most likely be cheering on a prosecutor in a liberal state who refused to prosecute gun violations.

Kemp standing up to trump was a better example of leadership then bullying private corporations. I like to throw the comparison in to raise the hackles on all of the people licking the fromunda cheese off of DeSantis' sack. :coffee:
Wait so Kemp standing up to Trump (I assume you're referring to the 2020 election issues) was upholding GA state law.
Desantis is upholding FL state law.

So your Kemp > Desantis is more like Kemp = Desantis
Kemp governs like an adult, DeSantis governs like a toddler screaming "look at me". DeSantis isn't as selfish or immature as Trump though so he has that going for him.

This probably deserves its own thread because it's the most fascinating topic in the news right now to me.

We have a defacto open border right now. DC and the media have been shitting on the overwhelmed red border states. The Biden Administration has left those states to basically fend for themselves and the media called the leaders of those states racists for having the gall to describe the situation as a "humanitarian crisis". For the past few weeks AZ and TX have been shipping those illegals to NYC and DC by the bus load. Now that those cities are getting just a tiny little taste of what's going on at the border, they just can't deal.

We kinda want you here, just not where we are.

"GOP Governors cause havoc" in NYC and DC, did they mention that President Biden caused havoc in the border states? :suspicious:

Goes to show that illiberals are as self-absorbed and clueless as trump and his MAGAts.

Biden’s 2020-2021 White House Payroll at $100.7 Million Is Highest Ever

The payroll for White House staff under President Joseph Biden in his first two years had the highest headcount in history and spent $100.7 million. The payroll spending was reported in Biden’s annual report to Congress published on July 1.

OpenTheBooks.com analyzed the payroll information the day it was released and put out a comprehensive look at the spending through its oversight report.

Moral Foundations Theory
Moral Foundations Theory was created by a group of social and cultural psychologists to understand why morality varies so much across cultures yet still shows so many similarities and recurrent themes. In brief, the theory proposes that several innate and universally available psychological systems are the foundations of “intuitive ethics.” Each culture then constructs virtues, narratives, and institutions on top of these foundations, thereby creating the unique moralities we see around the world, and conflicting within nations too. The five foundations for which we think the evidence is best are:
  1. Care/harm
  2. Fairness/cheating
  3. Loyalty/betrayal
  4. Authority/subversion
  5. Sanctity/degradation
  6. Liberty/oppression
Stumbled upon this theory while listening to San Fransicko: Why Progressives Ruin Cities (great book that I highly recommend). Now I have a couple of new books to read/listen to ...

Sorry Chizzy if you're still out there, but Elon Musk is such a fraud.

https://time.com/6203815/elon-musk-flaw ... e-visions/
As I’ve written in my book, Musk admitted to his biographer Ashlee Vance that Hyperloop was all about trying to get legislators to cancel plans for high-speed rail in California—even though he had no plans to build it.
Did people really think he was going to build hundreds of miles of vacuum tubes and have them secured against a crazy person who could unload a bunch of 0.556s into the side and kill everyone inside the thing? :dunce:

Yep. If it had been a non Hispanic white, right winger, it would have been non stop front page news for days, it would be Trump’s fault, and Biden would be flying to Albuquerque, giving a speech trying to read ‘Islamaphobia’ off the teleprompter. But since its Muhammad on Muhammad crime, nothing to see here..

They're just not sure about the motive. If they could figure that out, it would probably help.

Surprising garbage take from Sam Harris.

The sad thing is that there are JSO's out there that agree with it.

Elon Musk told Republicans at a GOP retreat the party should welcome immigrants and stay 'out of people's bedrooms,' report says
During the event Musk also said the US would benefit if Republicans stayed "out of people's bedrooms," adding that the Democratic Party should stay "out of people's wallets," per Axios, having complained about his $11 billion tax bill.

That Elon Musk is a smart guy (while also being a whacko at times). If either party would just stop gravitating to their worst instincts they could see tremendous electoral success. Alas. :coffee:

Immigration is one issue where woke leftists, the Chamber of Commerce, and billionaires looking out for the interests of billionaires all converge on one side. Not surprising.

I'm not sure it's quite that simple. Regulated immigration is good for the economy and good for the country. Open borders puts a strain on social services and more.
