Agreed. I don't want journalists advocating for the middle point between the two parties - I'm not even sure what that means - but objective journalists would be the ideal. We're not really different now than we were back in the yellow journalism days of the late 19th century. No one can really say truthfully that that's a good thing.

 Yellow journalism, tabloid journalism of the 1920’s and the 1930’s and today's journalism.

Trump broke CNN when they threw out any pretense of objectivity and went full bore TDS anti trump. So CNN fired Zuckerberg, who was a disaster, as he oversaw CNN’s implosion over Trump, plus their short lived 300 million dollar loss streaming service disaster. Licht is hired and pledges to bring more conks on CNN and bring CNN back to the center. But the left inside and outside CNN loses their collective shit because Licht dared to try to bring CNN back to the center and dared to allow the top conk POTUS candidate to have a town hall on CNN, and now Licht gets shitcanned.

So Trump broke CNN not once, but twice.

‘Why the hell are we doing this?’ McCarthy's fractured leadership team faces new abortion tension
The spat between two rank-and-file Republicans illustrates the immense pressure that McCarthy and his top deputies are under as they try to muscle through conservative policies with a five-seat majority. Conservative hardliners have grabbed attention by paralyzing the House floor, venting their fury at leaders over perceived broken promises, but centrists can wield similar power in their own way if they’re frustrated enough.

In fact, the same tactics that conservative hardliners used this week could convince centrists to join Democrats in halting floor action next week using a different arcane tactic. Losing ground on more agenda items would risk compounding the embarrassment that party leaders faced in recent days.
...
Some Republicans are privately speculating that their centrists could mount their own rebellion by aligning with Democrats to delay a final vote on the abortion bill — exploiting a maneuver that the minority party in the House almost always attempts to no avail. Any kerfuffle that results may not happen next week, however: In a reversal, the abortion funding bill was not included on the GOP's list of bills for the week ahead.
If the extremists in the House push too far risk the moderates joining with Democrats to pass legislation and/or they're going to put Republican moderates at risk in the 2024 election and end up losing control of the House.

The owners of minor league teams are billionaires? :suspicious: :dunce: I don't even follow baseball and know that the Major League Owners don't own most of their minor league affiliates.

At least 5 tiers of minor league baseball (Rookie, Single A Low, Single A High, Double A, Triple AAA). Should these NON Billionaire/Not filthy rich owners who often barely turn a profit or lose money on these minor league teams have to pay mostly late teens through mid 20s Rookie and Single A Low players, who are already provided housing, $15 an hour (what the min wage in FL will be in 3-4 years) for every hour they spend with baseball? If they hit 40 hours then what, pay them OT, or hold them out of games, lock them out of team facilities, say they can't ride the bus?

EVERY FL Democrat in the FL Senate voted for this:

Trump and other Republicans conjure a familiar enemy in attacking Democrats as ‘communists’

Why didn't they say it was wrong when Democrats called Republicans Nazis/fascists?

Because the Democratic Party in general and especially the likes of Biden, Obama, Hillary, the DOJ, span just left of center to center right and are in essence economically neo-liberal. Far from marxism.

Bullshit. Biden started center left but he and the Democratic party have moved further left. Manchin is still center left and look at how he's viewed by his own party.

Biden and Democrats are just as much Marxists/communists as trump and Republicans are Nazis/fascists.

Anyone who made this statement about Republicans calling Democrats Marxists/communists but didn't say anything about Democrats calling Republicans Nazis/fascists is a hypocrite without credibility on the topic.
Experts who study political messaging say associating Democrats with Marxism only furthers the country's polarization — and is simply wrong

I’m sorry it doesn’t fit your narrative but the Democratic establishment has been a corporatist, neo-liberal party (similar to the GOP) going back to Bill Clinton, triangulation, and DCCC. It’s not even debatable.

Christ I’d hate to see your take on such famous Marxists as FDR and Eisenhower.

We're talking about now, not when FDR or even Bill Clinton were Presidents (Eisenhower was a Republican).

And yes, the Democratic Party has a a corporatist wing, but that wing isn't nearly as influential as it once was and many US corporations have embraced leftist approaches in order to market their products.

Both parties have moved toward their extremes. The extremists are the loudest and most active so they drive the debate at the local party level. Gerrymandering has given them even more power within their parties and driven the moderate/centrists to the side.

I don't know how to help you if you can't see the hypocrisy of complaining about Republicans calling Democrats Marxists/communists but having no problem with Democrats calling Republicans Nazis/fascists.

Biden has moved a little to the left rhetorically and on sone issues but do has the country hence the corporations following suit. Like I used to try and remind sone of you, the middle is a moving target.

There’s hypocrisy if both are equally true. They’re clearly not. Agree with you on the gerrymandering and divisiveness tho. The plagues of a two party system that leaves very few good options.
