House Democrats savaged Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a family venting session that featured yelling and crying lawmakers in the wake of the party's losses on Thursday.

And the drama on the three-hour conference call played out live on Twitter, as details were leaked to the Capitol Hill press corps, who tweeted all the wild details.

Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat from Virginia who narrowly won a second term on Tuesday night, yelled out her frustration, accusing party leaders of bowing to demand from the liberals, like members of 'The Squad.'

No one should say 'defund the police' ever again,' Spanberger said, referring to one of liberals' demands, Politico reported. 'Nobody should be talking about socialism.'

Spanberger, continued to unload on Democratic leaders, warning if the party kept up these tactics in 2022 election: 'We will get f****** torn apart.'

Imagine the breath of fresh air that could come out of Washington if Trump is banished to Mir-A-Lago and Pelosi is no longer Speaker. If there could be a way that we could get McConnell and Schumer to both step aside from leadership and let others take the reins then it would be a full sweep.

Oh, on the defund thing, the Philly police just released the body cam of the interaction with the guy with the knife they shot last week. Didn't show the incident or the several moments right before it out of consideration for the family. But what was interesting was the rationale for officers in Philly not routinely having tasers, which probably could've helped resolve this issue without the loss of life. Apparently Philly doesn't have the money for tasers. And this was before the defund push actually cut more money from their budget. Never could've seen that coming. :coffee:

I know! They need to go. McConnell, Schumer, Pelosi, McCarthy, Graham, et al... need to go.

This echoes what my liberal friends have been saying all week - BLM, Defund the Police, stupid identity politics is causing the Dems to lose seats. The socialism charges stick to them. The anti-American charges stick but the Dems don't do enough to push back. Focus on what affects the voters wallet and their way of life and you can start regaining seats. The Republicans have that figured out.

Good questions.
How about the moderate Republicans and Dems break away and give the Libertarians or a new party some power...? That'd be nice

I sent Trip a text last night and so far nothing. I'd love to hear his take.

I don't think Libertarians are it.

The quadrant of socially liberal and fiscally conservative seems to have the least voters.

The mirror of libertarianism - socially conservative and economically liberal seems to have the most 3rd party potential.

This is from 2016. I haven't seen the same from 2020, so assuming it's at least similar.

Didn't Trump partially fill that ideological niche from a policy (but not personal) perspective?

Cutting taxes while spending like a drunken sailor does not make someone a economic/fiscal conservative.

Yeah, I do think so. And, I think that's one reason he did so well in 2016. Maybe there was a shift in 2020 and it doesn't look like that anymore, but I think there is an opening for a Trumpist 3rd party, whereas there was not for a Tea Party move to Libertarianism. Maybe that is just a realignment of the Republican Party... But, we'll see.

As a small L libertarian, it pains me to agree that the greatest opening for a 3rd party is with social conservatism and fiscal irresponsibility.

Maybe Trump and his RINO supporters can form their own fiscally irresponsible party focused ironically enough on scolding people for their moral shortcomings. :D

Hey, I'm right there with you - I'm part of that lonely socially liberal, fiscally conservative quadrant. It's pretty lonely over here.

As for that party of Trumpers, we already had that group once - the Know-Nothings in the 1840's/1850's. Thankfully they didn't last long but they had their own former President too in Millard Fillmore. Trump is really channeling some compelling history following in those footprints. :coffee:

You are correct that the Trumpflakes have been incorrectly using the term RINO. I have decided to mount a one-person internet crusade to take it back. ;)

Yes, that is true. But the term RINO has been around for decades, and will be around for long after Trump.

If he becomes liberal enough he won't have to worry about it because he won't believe in heaven.

The prominent diversity consultant Robin DiAngelo raked in $12,750 for a speaking gig last month at the University of Wisconsin—70 percent more than the other keynote speaker, black female author Austin Channing Brown.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Division of Diversity, Equity, and Educational Achievement paid Channing Brown just $7,500 for her keynote address at its annual Diversity Forum, receipts obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show. The payments were negotiated with the Harry Walker Agency, a New York-based speakers bureau that represents both women.

I’m not the first person to notice this stunning wage growth. Writing in Bloomberg, economist Karl W. Smith describes the growth in income using a slightly different metric, real median household income.

“In 2016, real median household income was $62,898, just $257 above its level in 1999,” writes Smith. “Over the next three years it grew almost $6,000, to $68,703.”

Indeed, median household incomes increased from $64,300 to $68,700 in 2018 alone—an increase of $4,400. To put it another way, US incomes increased more in 2018 than the previous 20 years combined. (Household incomes were $61,100 in 1998 and $64,300 at the end of 2017.)
