You get what you vote for.
Thw results of woke CJ reform every day in the LA, San Fran, NYC, etc
A California murderer who was freed under woke reforms just five years into his sentence of 50 years to life has been busted again — accused of leading cops on a car chase while high on drugs and carrying a gun, according to the prosecutors who’d helped get him free.

Andres Cachu was a 17-year-old gangbanger in 2015 when he gunned down Louis Amela, 41, during a robbery in Los Angeles, according to court documents obtained by Fox News.…

If I had a family member killed by someone like that and that person made parole 5 years into a 50 year sentence he wouldn’t last a week on the street.

This American teacher also sits in a Russian jail, worried nobody cares
For the past 11 months, Fogel has languished in Russian detention centers following his August 2021 arrest for trying to enter the country with about half an ounce of medical marijuana he'd been prescribed in the United States for chronic pain after numerous injuries and surgeries. First he endlessly awaited trial, often in crowded, smoke-choked cells. More recently, he has been serving the first weeks of an incomprehensible 14-year sentence handed down by a Russian judge in June.
...
In suburban Pittsburgh, Jane Fogel has been watching the Griner case spool out and wondered whether her husband has been forgotten. Griner's wife, Cherelle, received a call from the president. The Fogels have been stalled at the mid-functionary level of the U.S. State Department. Speculation about a possible prisoner swap before Blinken's announcement on Wednesday had earlier trickled into his Russian prison cell, compounding his anxiety.

Democrats bareknuckle Green Party off North Carolina ballot
A day after Connor Harney received anonymous text messages asking him to retract his signature from a petition to qualify Green Party candidates for the November ballot in North Carolina, he said unidentified canvassers brought their “attempts to interfere with democracy” to his doorstep.

A woman claiming to represent the state Board of Elections appeared at his home in Fuquay-Varina in late June, a checklist of street addresses in hand, and repeated the request, he said.
I guess the ends justify the means, ethics be damned. Just another reason that I don't trust or support either major party.

Is this Al-Qaeda's next terror chief? Secretive heir apparent who 'oversaw Black Hawk Down operation' and helped carry out 9/11 attacks is poised to take over after Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in Afghanistan

The heir apparent to the al-Qaeda throne after tonight's confirmed death of Ayman al-Zawahiri is a canny, military-trained operative with experience killing British and American soldiers.

Egyptian ex-army officer Saif al-Adel was a founding member of al-Qaeda, having joined pre-cursor terrorist group Maktab al-Khidamat in the late-1980s.

There he met future allies Osama bin Laden and al-Zawahiri, whose separate group Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ) he would soon join..

I'm sure this will be litigated. Warren is going to argue:
Regarding the 15-week ban on abortion, Warren stated: "As I said before, I put my hand on the Bible and swore to defend the U.S. and Florida constitutions. Florida’s Constitution has a privacy right that clearly covers abortion. While Tallahassee tries to circumvent the law, I will uphold the law and protect our freedom."
Kemp > DeSantis

Firstly, Just like in the US Constitution, there is no right to abortion, nor is it mentioned, in the Florida constitution..
Just like in the US Constitution, in the FL constitution, there’s a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..
Warren can litigate, and he will lose. Desantis is right..

Secondly, there’s also that little pesky detail of Warren would not enforce any prohibition of sex change operations for minors. Desantis is justified for firing him on that alone.

Thirdly, if you’re a state prosecutor, your job is to enforce state laws, period. It not your job to decide which you are going to enforce and which you aren’t. I’m sure every lawyer in law school is taught that as a DA/prosecutor, you have to defend laws you disagree with. If you have a problem with that, then you should resign. The guy is acting in direct defiance of his boss, the Florida Attorney General.

And what does Kemp have to do with this situation? :suspicious:

Gee, I wonder why. Could it be things like full TDS anchors who constantly editorialize about ‘Orange Man Bad’ rather than report the news, and things like (CNN Columnist Dean Obeidallah):

I don't disagree with your 3 points, I just think it will be interesting to watch it play out.

You would most likely be cheering on a prosecutor in a liberal state who refused to prosecute gun violations.

Kemp standing up to trump was a better example of leadership then bullying private corporations. I like to throw the comparison in to raise the hackles on all of the people licking the fromunda cheese off of DeSantis' sack. :coffee:

I'm not sure what the laws are in FL, but generally, Govs have very broad authority over personnel decisions like this. Don't think the guy has much ground to stand on.

To your second point, I don't disagree whatsoever. Kemp has been an outstanding Governor. The polls have it closer than I think it really is. Just judging from the types of ads Abrams is running and the folks she's targeting, her internals must be really really bad...much worse than the public polls.

As a self-identifying history buff, it's a good lesson in humility that there is so much more still to learn. Until this moment, I had neither even heard of a Gonzales battle flag, nor certainly even knew what it was. I'm now a little bit more knowledgeable. Unfortunately, given Jeopardy's penchant to skew left politically, I doubt this will ever be allowed to come up in a future clue. Oh well.

True.

I'd like to see the FBI guidelines to see what other symbols are and aren't on that list.

Wait so Kemp standing up to Trump (I assume you're referring to the 2020 election issues) was upholding GA state law.
Desantis is upholding FL state law.

So your Kemp > Desantis is more like Kemp = Desantis
