I'll actually miss the Navy blue cammies, because they were a huge source of laughter for me personally, as a Marine who watched every other service try to copy us with lesser, and sometimes hilarious (these and the Chair Force tiger stripe digitals come immediately to mind) results.
They failed to reduce the number of uniforms sailors must maintain. Their threads put sailors at risk for worsening burn injuries by melting. And sailors said they were uncomfortable and that the only camouflage they offered was when someone fell overboard.
The blue-and-gray cammies originally intended to be the Navy's mainstay uniform are officially headed for Davy Jones' seabag, ending a decade of wrestling with a revolutionary uniform concept that failed to get its sea legs despite updates and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment.

It's about time the U.S. Navy did that.

Good grief. You're a marine and you're supporting Trump? OMG. You have this guy who got a deferment from Vietnam because he supposedly had bone spurs in his foot and he can't even remember which foot it was. This pussy then dissed John McCain for getting shot down while he was flying a fighter bomber into enemy fire.
Just freakin' unbelievable. Look, I may be a pussy too. I was lucky enough to be of the age where I turned 18 shortly after the Vietnam War ended. I never had to be placed into the position of having to decide what I would do. But Donald Trump and John McCain were. Donald Trump decided to claim he had bone spurs. John McCain decided to volunteer for combat duty. Yet Donald Trump dissed John McCain for getting shot down and captured.
I just can't believe you're supporting that Trump guy. I really can't.

Actually I can. You're an idiot.
Btw, McCain was an entitled near-flunky at the Naval Academy (class ranking 894 of 899), riding daddy's coattails. He was the white equivalent of a black affirmative action full-ride at Harvard.

It makes perfect sense John. Not being a vet your wouldn't realize that a marine is just a GI with his brains beat out. If you'd been hit in the head that often you'd probably vote for Trump too- and really, how much worse than Cheney/Bush could he be? You do need to get to work on getting your histrionic personality under control though, seriously...

I hate to say this, but I'm standing wit John on this one. I understand that most people who support Trump support him because they. they hate Obama. I get it. I can't see anyone who believes in anything this man says. You are what you are. Hes a piece of shit. This guy not too long ago was a registered Democrat. Now, I'm supposed to believe he's main interest is for the good of the GOP and the nation. Trump is all about Trump, and I'm ok with that. Get your MONEY!!!!! But he's not freaking President

I don't support Trump because I hate Obama. I don't hate Obama at all, though I think his Presidency was disappointing and that he backed off hope and change in favor of more of the same, bowing to his corporate masters.
I support Trump
only because I hate Hillary Clinton. I did a little dance when Obama beat Hillary in 2008.

Thank God. Those stupid cammies were the dumbest uniform move the Navy ever made. The salt-and-pepper look was better than that. Sailors do better with old-school dungarees, anyway....

The dungarees are a bit of an unfortunate uniform as well, but at least they have utility and history. Why bellbottoms still though? I guess for ease of removal if you fall overboard, but they look hideous. If you were fortunate enough to be in the Navy in the 70s, that was the ONLY decade you fit in.

The thing about the dungarees was that after you wash them several times they start to get soft and really comfortable.

Some of us opted for the military instead...

Makes perfect sense John, they don't have many mental titans signing up.

Not sure what your criteria is for "mental titan", but we had plenty of Ivy League grads as Marine officers. Even though I could only afford the in-state public option, my SAT and GMAT were upper 90 percentile.
I understand your attempts at humor, over and over and over, but they're tired. I'll pass on Army jokes, because my dad served honorably as a soldier in actual combat in Vietnam, unlike the latrine duty you knocked out in Peoria.

Not really. Your sauce is too weak and predictable to touch any nerves. If you could switch it up a little maybe you could touch nerves. Work on it and get back to me.

Sp/4s don't get back to 3rd lieutenants they've already gotten
to.

Bus is about to drop me off in DC so I can't keep crushing you all morning. Enjoy your day, brush up on your talking points, and get back to me.
Btw, I was an NCO before I went to OCS, so the enlisted street cred angle won't work for you. Out.

You're talking to a dude who practically fought in Vietnam. He's an almost Rambo.
He'll nearly kick your ass.
