The guy inherited a shitty mess from the Nixon era as I don't blame Ford one bit and then the overthrow in Iran in late 79 didn't help at all. Still, get a vibe that folks today are willing to give him a pass. Best Dem POTUS ever was my all time fave, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Damn good man!

Well, this should get some traction.
No President is perfect, but Egypt and Israel haven't been at war in quite some time. And he was right about energy diversification.
Overall though, I think Carter has had better results through Habitat for Humanity than he did as a president. And I would say he's made a bigger impact as a person, through that, then damn near any president we have had. Certainly better than any president in my lifetime. Most just rest on their laurels.
Have at it boys.

A lifetime of penance for a four-year disaster!

I have met one of Carter's speechwriters several times through family and he makes a good case that Carter has been a much better former President than he was as actual President. Which is consistent with what App and Ivy said above.

If you have the Allman Brothers play at the inauguration, it isn't a 4 year disaster.

Yep. With Obama's disaster there's a new leader in the clubhouse.
