Troll, Douchebag, or Heroic Being?

I feel sorry for this guy.
You've probably never heard of him -- or his startup -- but he has the Internet all riled up.
In an open letter to San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and police chief Greg Suhr, entrepreneur Justin Keller details why homeless "riff raff" are ruining the city.
"Every day, I see people sprawled across the sidewalk, tent cities, human feces, and the faces of addiction," wrote Keller, founder of Commando.io.
"I know people are frustrated about gentrification happening in the city, but the reality is, we live in a free market society ... The wealthy working people have earned their right to live in the city ... I shouldn't have to worry about being accosted."
Keller, who published the post on February 15, said he no longer feels safe in his own city. He cites three "incidents" over President's Day weekend where homeless men were harassing residents -- including public nudity, yelling and screaming, and physically pushing people.
"I shouldn't have to see the pain, struggle, and despair of homeless people to and from my way to work every day," Keller added.

They need to move the tech industry away from the San Francisco area so people don't have to live where a major earthquake COULD happen at any given time and almost certainly WILL happen over the next 30 years or so.

Also the homeless people might want to find another place to go and be homeless too. I saw a documentary on this just recently. About the big 1906 San Francisco quake and part of it was about how another one is coming in the relatively near future and, while things are a lot better than they were in 1906, the infrastructure is NOT prepared for it and it's going to be absolute hell. I realize there may be inaccuracies in documentaries but I would NOT live in the San Francisco area.

why live there when you can live in the nation's chemical dump, eat poisoned seafood from the gulf and enjoy the fragrance in Piss, Louisiana?

Regardless of where else you live, I don't think it makes sense to make San Francisco a hub of a major industry. I mean think about it.
"Hey, the people that are supposed to know about such things say that there is going to be a really, really catastrophic earthquake disaster here at some point during the next 30 years or so and it could happen at any time. Wow. What a great place to make this a center of our industry!"

Back to the original question: I completely sympathize with the guy. I also am among those who think that in the United States the overwhelming majority of at least the adults that you see on the street like that are there because of their own life tendencies and decisions. I don't have data to support that belief. But it's what I believe. And I think you should be able to move around a city without having to be accosted by panhandlers.

Or the majority of them have some sort of drug problem that's almost always linked to some sort of mental illness.
