8 PM ECB time.

Will feature top 7 candidates:
-Trump
-Cruz
-Rubio
-Carson
-Jeb Bush
-Christie
-Kasich

Will be the 1st debate with no JV debate, so Fiorina & Gilmore are SOL..

Maybe the most important debate yet..I expect there to be some fireworks.. :coffee:

I'd rather see Trump, Cruz, Rubio & Fiorina. The rest can all go pound sand.

You got 3 out of 4 right. ABC's rules had the top 7 in the debate. She is in 8th right now in whatever national polls ABC is/was using. RCP average has her in 9th, but that list includes Paul who has dropped out. Regardless, she can join the others in sand pounding.

Christie and Kasich are dominating this one. Christie is schooling Rubio. Trump is insulting the crowd and getting booed. Jeb is a bumbling idiot as usual. Cruz is not registering much on the scale. Carson didn't really even need to bother showing up (and wtf was he doing at the beginning not walking out when they introduced him? ).

I pretty much agree with that order. Christie, Kasich, and Bush all had their best debates. Cruz was good, Trump except for the disaster around the whole eminent domain debate. Was Rubio's worst debate to date. Not a disaster but he can't have another like this in the final 2. It might have been Carson's best debate, but he is out of his element. He just needs to drop out.

Christie definitely bested Rubio on the 2 head to heads. But in the 1st one Rubio stated that NJ's credit rating has been decreased 9 times under Christie as gov. Now whether or not that's true I have no idea. And no one else does either, because Christie failed to respond to that or attempt to defend it. So on that 1st one Christie didn't hit a triple rather than a home run and at this point he needs to hot a hit a home run every time.

And the one other time when Christie mentioned ordering a pizza and popping a beer I was like  :ohno: The one candidate who can't talk about food...

If you were listening to this guy at a conference or trade show giving a speech you would think the guy sounds fairly smart & educated compared to the "average" American (which isn't saying a lot) but certainly not brilliant. Certainly not a great public speaker. Sounds wonkish, monotone, boring. And not even remotely close to being presidential candidate material. By all accounts he's a brilliant brain surgeon, which means he has to be a high IQ guy (I'm sure JSO could take a a couple of pages to tell us that). Maybe he could be a decent surgeon general. But he has no business running for president. I'm just baffled that he has been in 4th place. Don't understand it. Maybe a lot of republicans just really want to have a black republican to vote for? Heck, I do too. But he ain't it.

Wonder where SDHornet is this morning, after that woodshedding that Christie laid on his man Big Brown last night! 8-)

And Barack Obama knows exactly what he's doing!

Eminent Domain Man came out almost unscathed, except for that silly accusation that the audience was the donor class!

Did I mention that Barack Obama knows exactly what he's doing?

Christie jabbed that Rubio, as a senator, doesn’t have the executive experience needed to be president, citing Barack Obama as a cautionary tale. Rubio was ready with an answer to that: “This notion that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing?” he said. “He knows exactly what he's doing.” Rubio isn’t the only candidate to suggest that Obama is more evil genius than bumbling fool—Ted Cruz has done the same—but the crowd wasn’t buying it. Maybe Rubio’s phrasing was just too clever.

But when Christie mocked the idea, Rubio started repeating it—paving the way for Christie’s right hook, an accusation that Rubio just repeats talking points: “There it is, the memorized 25-second speech.”

Yes it is true. The credit rating is directly tied to the underfunding of pension plans. However, the underfunding began in the early 1990's under a Democrat Gov, and continued under many more Dem Govs. The pensions are still being paid but there could be a problem down the road. But there are too many immediate problems to worry about. Problem is that the credit ratings will force a higher interest rate for monies borrowed by the State.

Actually that was true (was starting to wonder where they found such a large pro-Bush crowdImage)

Trump handled the crowd really well, first test of adversity since the Megyn Kelly drama and he aced it in my opinion.

GOP is clearly making a final push to shove out the anti-establishment candidates. But their golden boy (Rubio) shit the bed HARD last night. Christie exposed the shit out of him.

Christie for Attorney General!
