I don't know who is going to win but I am hoping that Cleetus has to violate some interstate liquor laws to pay up

I could see Trump winning. He's looking more and more like our version of Italy's Berlusconi. See, we could vote for Trump and be more European at the same time. How very Continental of us. That could sway some Democratic voters perhaps.

But a European conk. Most Americans have a rather shallow understanding of Europe so they wouldn't have even cared what Silvio's actual positions were/are. Besides, he was a genuine Populist, and that's all the rage now.

The only way to derail Trump -- absent some colossal faux pas, like a public real-time groping of Whoopi Goldberg -- is to deprive him of the mother's milk of all politicians: free media publicity. No more Fox News/GMA/Today lovefests. Suck all the air out of the room. But Trump -- crude and vacuous as he is -- is the master of the PR stunt and the soundbite. The MSM love him because TRUMP (even more than lesbians, according to Howard Stern) MEANS RATINGS.

His poll lead is widening. Carson still #2, but Fiorina is fading. And the establishment knuckleheads can't even tie their own shoes.

If Trump gets the nod, he will lose all 50 states, even Utah. Walter Mondale's '84 debacle will become a historical footnote.

But I'm not yet ready to send a wad of unmarked bills to Chizzy, because I'm an optimist!
