I wrote the RFP and awarded this study. I can't say the results surprise anyone:

Perhaps the most damning stat of all:

The research also found that male Marines who have not received infantry training were still more accurate using firearms than women who have.

How much did this study cost the US taxpayer? What's next, a study to prove Asian women are terrible drivers?

The cost in lives and inefficiency of integrating women in Marine infantry units would far outweigh the cost of this study (less than $2M by the way). You should thank the Marine Corps for preemptively obtaining data prior to DoD shoving more mandates down its throat to please politicians. It may also save the Army similar studies, although the Army embraced integration of its force long ago. The Marine Corps still segregates women in basic training. They're thrown into 4th Battalion on one side of Parris Island and on the rare occassion you pass them, your drill instructor will "politely" remind you not to let your eyes gaze upon their nastiness. At least that's the way it was in 1994.

Yes. I have been involved in a study for more than 17 years. However, this study will only have, at best, a 50% accuracy rating. Other studies have also been conducted during this same time frame. Many of them have concluded with the following results:
Planning: Fail
Cooking: Fail
Maintaining a pleasant disposition: Fail
Recognition of Geographic Differences: Major Fail
Finance: Major Fail

Reality does not matter to the egalitarian dogma. This study will make no difference.

Fortunately our military is so superior to any other that weakening it by turning it into an affirmative action opportunity won't really matter. At least not for the foreseeable future.

The effect of the egalitarian dogma is more important in other areas. The whole thing about striving to achieve "diversity" instead of being blind to sex, race, etc., and just letting the chips fall where they may.

It was directed by the Commandant (Gen Amos), and we had to award it faster than a cheetah with a hotfoot. He retired last year.

Obviously what's needed is more female military role models, movies and TV shows with badass women soldiers, training for drill instructors to use language that doesn't promote stereotypes, and PSAs telling parents not to discourage interest in GI Joes by their daughters.
