PPP's newest Iowa poll finds Donald Trump leading the Republican
field in the state even after a weekend of controversy. He's at 19% to 12% for Ben Carson
and Scott Walker, 11% for Jeb Bush, 10% for Carly Fiorina, 9% for Ted Cruz, and 6%
for Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio.
The other 9 candidates are all clustered between 3% and having no support at all (George
Pataki)- John Kasich and Rand Paul are at 3%, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Rick
Santorum at 2%, Chris Christie at 1%, and Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, and Pataki all
have less than 1%.

If you're including Trump in that you need to change the number to five. Trump is not a viable candidate.

The guy in the Republican field the Clinton camp fears most is Marco Rubio.

In head-to-head polling, Clinton comes out a few points ahead nationally.

When broken down, Rubio beats Clinton head-to-head in every battleground state.

In polling among those who claim "familiarity" with both candidates, Rubio leads (fairly significantly).

Rubio has substantially lower name recognition, but he is viewed far more favorably among those who claim "familiarity" with him than those who claim "familiarity" with Clinton. Rubio''s negatives are substantially lower than Clinton's (who has negatives over 50% in some polls).

Clinton's camp is going to try to define Rubio and drive up his negatives in the process. That's why Clinton went after Rubio in her post-debate comments.

Rubio can beat Clinton nationally, and the Clinton camp knows it.

A personal observation: Rubio is a lot sharper than Clinton.
