Marco Rubio, you have to quit talking about hip hop. I’m sure that flexing like you know rap may work at Young Republican gatherings and places like that, because they’re not cool either. But you’re running for president now, and that means the rest of us are listening to what you say. And you must stop talking about hip hop.
Sen. Rubio played himself once again last week on Fox News, when a host of “Outnumbered” tossed him a gimme: Since you say you love the Wu-Tang Clan, who is your favorite member?
Where’s that tiny, tiny bottle of water when you need it? Think, Marco, think.
Stumped. Couldn’t name a single one.
If it’s embarrassing to be stumped on your hip hop knowledge when you profess to be a fan, what sort of irrevocable disgrace is it when it happens on Fox News, the precise opposite of BET?
Extremely embarrassing....for the magazine. JFC, no one gives a shit if he could name a member of the band.
Stop it now.

Rza and ODB were my favorites.
Btw, I agree with you Jon. If this is best that Salon can do then Rubio is going to be just fine.

Method man
Maybe Red man if I watched cribs again.
I don't think he could have named one without dealing with the shit storm of bringing up what any of the have said in the past. Best choice was to look foolish in Salon.

I loved hip hop growing up...
...at one point, I even built a hutch to hold all my rabbits.

Damn I forgot about them. Still, Rza is my favorite.

I can think of a number of bands I've liked over my lifetime and such that I can't now nor could i ever name a single member. Devo. Kansas. Sprit. Styx. Yes. Bare Naked Ladies. Jane's Addiction. L7. A bunch more. There are a lot more bands that I've liked such that I CAN'T name any of the band members than there are such that I CAN name any of the band members. Heck, I wouldn't be able to name a single member of ZZ Top if we hadn't just recently had a discussion about guitarists.
I just don't see this as anything at all.

I dont understand the left wing's tizzy over Rubio AT ALL
these articles and stories are like the media parodying themselves - if SNL was doing skits about this they wouldnt be able to get any sillier to make it satire
Im seriously perplexed by this - is there some cunning plan here or what

and I dont even see Rubio as the biggest threat to Clinton...
right about now I would expect them to be going after Walker
unless this is some kind of reverse psychological play to build Rubio up as a sympathetic character so he wins the nomination over Walker- maybe thats it
this media buffoonery is actually making things interesting

This ^ is usually where Baldy tells me to stop paying so much attention to FOX
Example: Prior to your illuminating thread I had no idea "THE LEFT" was on a witch hunt after Rubio

I'm thinking that Rubio being a hip hop fan is a good reason to vote against him

I normally dont pay a lot of attention to the major media outlets unless they are doing something really goofy - but even then i dont get too riled up about it
I can usually tell what the media is up to- regardless of the source - because i dont see mass media as being particularly sophisticated (think of any journalism major you ever knew)- so when they go after somebody it is usually full tilt
i only seem riled because these stories make no sense - either they really are scraping the bottom of the barrel
or its a cunning plan

Yep.
You guys aren’t seeing the bigger picture. His “fandom” of hip hop is just a ploy to snake away some of the team black vote when he meets hildabeast in the Nov ’16 election. In their haste to cast their multiple illegal votes, team black will see “Rubio” on the ballot and think that surely a minority would be the only candidate to like hip hop; and surely only a minority would be on the donk ticket. It’s pure genius.

That Redman episode of Cribs was the best ever. Just a regular dude who lived in a 2 bedroom townhome with his PS2 and big screen TV.

And cousin passed out on the floor.
That had to be a spoof.

It probably was, didn't he have a Honda Civic with a busted radio too or something like that?

Careful there OL, team black had club wielding thugs at the polls…we will have Zimmy. Vote wisely.

In other words, does he have the spine to take that 3 am phone call?
I agree with his libertarian views, but also realize that not all "world crises" are "orchestrations" to draw us into conflict: Some require a firm, committed response...something Obama hasn't understood.
If Paul can convince the electorate he has the spine, he'll be our next POTUS.

That's part of it. The other part is comments like saying some republicans want us to be attacked so that they can blame him. I have heard enough childish blame game statements from our current president, I really don't want to keep hearing them.

A politician blaming their opponents?

Thanks, that was helpful
