Wow.
Robinette “Beau” Biden III, the son of Vice President Biden and former state attorney general of Delaware, died Saturday after battling brain cancer for several years.
Biden, 46, the oldest son of the vice president and the rising star of a family dynasty, had been admitted recently to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda as he fought the cancer, a battle that his father largely kept private in the last weeks as his son clung to his life.
“The entire Biden family is saddened beyond words. We know that Beau’s spirit will live on in all of us — especially through his brave wife, Hallie, and two remarkable children, Natalie and Hunter,” Vice President Biden said in a statement that was released Saturday night.

As one of my favorite eGriz posters mentioned on FB, no man should ever have to bury his own son. I don't care what your politics are, if this happens to you, it's a sad day for us all.
Cancer whomps....

He would likely have been the next Delaware Senator or Governor, after already having been AG, and then on to possible higher things like his dad. It's obviously nit a Kennedy level dynasty, or even a Bush or Clinton, but it could be called a political dynasty, since it was already at 43 years and likely had another 30 to go under Beau.

Good riddance.
Those entrenched clowns in Delaware's leadership were not-so-secretly going to swap places (AG, Governor, Congressmen, etc....a nice way to stay in power while avoiding the design of term limits.
Eff them all.

Then again, this is Delaware we're talking about, the Kuwait of the East Coast.

Maybe 20 years ago.

Beau was a nice guy. Always sad for a parent to bury a child -- and Joe already buried a daughter back in '72 -- but people die of brain cancer every day. The Bidens tried to cover it up to protect his career, but we all knew this hospital trip would be his last. RIP.

I do feel bad for the Bidens. And I also think Joe Biden is more "real" than most politicians. I think he stays somewhat grounded in a normal life and dares to say what's truly on his mind sometimes without having to have everything sanitized. I disagree with the side he's taken but even though he's been made the punch line of many jokes I have more respect for him than I do most politicians and their plastic Ken Doll personas.

For a Louisiana hick, that was pretty bright, clean, articulate, and sort of nice-sounding.

I thought that crapping on a grave wasn't really significant
all things being considered - why would a dead guy decomposing care..?
Are you on medication tonight or something - you're off your game a bit?

It was significant for GrizQuarterWit.

You should respect the next generation and their beliefs.
BTW, "decomposing" would go before, "guy."

Not if it was a military inventory:
Guy, decomposing, 1

You seem to enjoy doing it to other people, why shouldn't they do it to you?
Let us know when you grow up enough to have some modicum of respect for the dead.
