Union can't catch a break

The IAM has filed complaints with the NLRB against Boeing in South Carolina. We all recall the first (or not) but the latest was just dismissed. The Union had scheduled a vote to see if the workers wanted to form a union. But because some workers had the call to get upset when union members went to thier homes to get them sign up (and pull guns on them) the IAM filed a complaint saying Boeing encourgaed the harrassment and aggression. The NRLB, seeing through the bullshit, dismissed it.
The IAM:
the IAM alleged that a Boeing employee threatened two union recruiters at gunpoint while they were making home visits to raise support for the vote.
The NRLB:
The NLRB concluded there was no evidence proving the individual who threatened IAM organizers with a gun was an agent of Boeing, or otherwise acting at the behest of Boeing

The government has worked. I know people, democrat and liberal, that are against the IAM. I have 3 neighbors on my street that work at Boeing (one of whom has Obama stickers all over the cars) and they all told me over the weekend - in their experience and dealings with the union- that the IAM is the one creating the animosity between worker and management. Go figure...

- Let's hope they keep calm when Volvo starts up (in case you didn't hear, SC will have Volvo's first US manufacturing facility)

South Carolina landed its second car factory this year, luring Volvo Car Corp. with a financing package that offers about 25 cents in incentives for every dollar the Chinese-owned auto maker spends.
Volvo later this year will break ground on a $500 million factory, its first in the U.S., that will open in 2018 near shipping ports and Interstate 95. State and local officials offered a $120 million incentives package including funds to develop property near the Port of Charleston, improve road access and lower taxes. The state of Georgia also vied for the factory.
Volvo is going to ressurect a few old mill towns when they break ground.
I know..I know.. It's a Chinese owned company...the horror of globalization.

Most folks are on to the unions. They served their purpose in past years but most of what they worked for back then is now codified into law and workers have recourse when there are abuses.
There are still diehard union types but they are the left's pariahs as the fundies are the right's.
Good for SC.

Hopefully this will be incentive for SC to finally address I-95. My God what a miserable piece of highway. It's like riding on a dirt road. Almost as bad as I-10 through Louisiana.

Thats some real insight there given that 90% of workers in the nation aren't union. Thanks for sharing.
America peaked when unions were strong. Been in decline ever since Reagan took office. We're keeping the economy propped up with endless war.
Nobody's fault, really, just part of the life cycle of an empire.

Wasn't Mork and Mindy around when America peaked?
Is it a coincidence that we've been in decline ever since?

Before Reagan, Stagflation and the Misery Index were pegged. Interest rates were 21%, and 50 something Americans were held as hostages in Iran for 444 days.
AKA - The Peak of 'Murican Civilization.

They would have been out sooner but the most corrupt admin in US history was already cutting a deal behind the Carter admin's back.

Of course kooks like you, Spandos, and Gary Sick believe that..
"
No Evidence' Of Reagan-iran Hostage Deal
WASHINGTON — A bipartisan House panel has concluded that there is no merit to the persistent accusations that people associated with the 1980 presidential campaign of Ronald Reagan struck a secret deal with Iran to delay the release of American hostages until after the election.
"There is no credible evidence supporting any attempt or proposal to attempt by the Reagan presidential campaign, or persons representing or associated with the campaign to delay the release of the American hostages in Iran," the panel concluded in a summary of its report, which was to be made public Wednesday.
The summary describes the report as "the most thorough and complete investigation and analysis of the October surprise allegations to date."
More than 230 people were interviewed in several countries by 10 lawyers and six investigators working for the House October Surprise Task Force. Hotel, telephone and credit card records were checked against allegations made by the accusers....."

Boeing was quick to point out that IAM was against the Charleston facility. Went on to point out IAM only cared about SC after they hit their stride.

My point wasn't that Inslee and every other politician isn't licking Boeing balls - because they are
What I'm talking about is the housing market and other related issues
People who actually work for a living in King County deal with HUGE inflated market prices (on everything)
The free market world was not designed that every troglodyte could buy a house
and every slacker mouth breather making $35 an hour with 4 weeks off a year
Example:
King County now has to move the minimum wage up to $15
