At first I though the title of the thread was, "Liberal shot to shreds".
I was very happy for a moment.

Woodward is about as liberal as Newsbusters is a legitimate information source.
He might be slightly to the left of Halperin though.

Coming from someone who uses Rolling Stone and Vox as legitimate information sources....
Newsbusters wasn't a source in Horny's link. Only the delivery mechanism.
The source was the video and the words coming straight from Woodward's mouth.

Coming from you...
RS wasn't the source, only the delivery system for Taibbi's excellent financial pieces.

Coming from me, I don't use questionable and agenda driven sources.
However, you using a hyper-partisan political commentator and part time sports columnist as your go-to-guy for financial information tells us all we need to know.

I don't recall you using any sources in general. Just taking pop shots at any liberal ones.
I suppose Michael Hastings didn't know beans about the War on Terror, and Hunter S. Thompson was an amateur on the counter culture and politics.
Taibbi flat out nailed the financial crisis, especially when it came to the CRA, harsh lending requirements, Jefferson County, Alabama, Greece, and Goldman Sachs. I remember even Blueballs agreeing with his shit. Hint: For objective reporting on a crisis caused by the financial sector, the WSJ, Financial Times, Forbes, etc, might not be the most objective sources. Establishment/bubble reporting at it's finest.
The RS hatred has always amused me.

Pop shots.
AKA - Little daggers of truth.
Michael Hastings was an agenda driven little shit, but at least he did spend time in Iraq.
Never really cared for Hunter S. Thompson, but he did live the counter culture. Comparing Thompson and Taibbi is like comparing Milli Vanilli to Elvis.
Speaking of pop shots. Taibbi is a master, and occasionally will get something correct (queue AZ's stopped clock being right twice a day analogy), but to paint him as some sort of unbiased journalist?
To blame the financial crisis on the financial sector is only analyzing a portion of the issue, and Taibbi's agenda blinds him to the root cause of the problem.

I think they're a WHOLE lot more intellectually honest than Media Matters is.

Look guys, all they're doing is quoting and providing a video of what Bob Woodward had to say.
If you want to go after the substance you need to go after Bob Woodward.

You should mention this to Baldy and CID1990 sometime.

I'm sure you were aware, but that was only the latest and easiest example. I'm lazy.

In August of 2005, the MRC launched the NewsBusters blog to provide immediate exposure of national media bias, unfairness, inaccuracy, and occasional idiocy. National talk-radio stars often read from articles on the blog, touting the latest nugget from “our buddies at NewsBusters.” Even the Washington Post has noticed the “feisty blog” run by “the best-known and best-funded conservative watchdog.”
With a sophisticated 24-hour recording operation and a huge archive of broadcast and cable news recordings dating back to 1987, NewsBusters plays a leading role in both short-term outrages and long-term trends in liberal media tilt.
