Protesting and shutting down a bridge.
http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/TheB ... nd-at-4-pm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Traffic will be stopped in all four lanes at the downtown point on the Cooper River Bridge, Mt. Pleasant-bound, at 4 p.m. today as activists stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matters Movement demanding an end to rampant systemic racism that is targeting and killing black people. The bridge shut down is a direct response to not only the murder of [Walter] Scott but to the long-standing racial profiling of North Charleston police of Black communities. We know that this is not just a local problem and is part of a widespread epidemic across South Carolina and the nation.

Inconveniencing thousands of drivers accomplishes exactly what again? Protest at City Hall or the Police Station, not a major artery in a different city from where the shooting took place.

Perhaps I should've chosen an image of the bridge AFTER it opened.

Gorgeous bridge, drove over it this summer on our stopover in Charleston (still owe Ibanez for the dinner recommendation - food was great).
Agreed, weird to go to a different city to protest - that would be like the folks in Ferguson going to the Arch in St. Louis to protest.
Also strange, no protests in Philly when the Black cop who was in a GameStop to buy his kid, who just made the honor roll, a Playstation as a reward was gunned down by two Black guys who popped into the store to rob it. Did his life not matter because he was wearing a badge?

Your own link seems to say this story is bunk now.

the other bridge to get into mount pleasant is already backed up.
The Eastbound lanes go to Mount Pleasant. Not Charleston or North Charleston. Idiots.

Hyperbole much? Tragic as this murder was, I don't think it rises to the march in Selma.
Stick to posting charts.

Bunk implies something is absurd. It's now reported as cancelled.
Herr Spin Doctor.
Either way, protesting and stopping traffic into Mount Pleasant is pointless. They're better off protesting and causing havoc on River's Avenue or I-526.

The niggras have been shutting down major arteries all over DC since Ferguson. It doesn't make much of a difference from normal DC traffic.

Not there. It's the liberal part of the city. IMO.

Um, the Ferguson protestors did go to the Arch and many other places in the City of St. Louis.

What gets me is hearing the "played" "NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE" chant in association with this incident. What the HELL are they talking about in this instance?
Let's see: The cop was fired and charged with murder.
What, exactly, do you want with respect to "Justice?' What else can the authorities do?
