He'd have had more credibility if he'd been a little less flashy. I mean even building something like the "Crystal Cathedral" raises questions.

Valid "optics" issue. In reality, it was just a glass/metal structure. Many of the Christian stadiums in Texas cost much more. Schuller was a "common persons" ministry, hence his motto, "Come as you are in the family car."

The church's financial problems emanated from a drastic decrease in donations following the 2008 collapse, not from mismanagement. Remember, their membership was middle-class SoCal, not Fairfax,VA.

He was just another scum bag churcher who's real purpose in life was to bilk the idiots out of their money. In the long run he tried to scam his church for over half a billion for "intellectual" property. The judge saw it different and sent him and his whiney ass family packing. So much for that god angle and just doing good.

Why are these losers and their sense of entitlement so often found at the head of churches?

Hey, pretending you're personal friends with Jesus will get you bank rolled
an uncountable number of buffoons will literally throw money at you
if you spend time pretending that Jesus is your best friend

Like clockwork baby

Its a shame they went bankrupt - For the life of me - I can't figure out how that church goes bankrupt
without massive fraud and thievery (Obviously)

:notworthy:

Except the proceeds from lottery tickets actually end up in the public coffers. Church donations go toward shit like this:
