Is this for real? Did Iran put this out there? Who is it supposed to impress?
At 0:22 mark, who is shooting at the Iranians? Its a flimsy mock up, why is the framing of the Con Tower still in tact? And the fucking thing is still floating! Was this a success to brag about?
I'm no military tactician, but if I would be doing this, I would have considered several different options.
1- if my boats are that shitty a shot, why not attack it broadside?
2- Load the barge up with dynamite.
3- make damn sure the fucker sinks!
All this of course is built on the hairbrained notion that my boats would even get close enough to see the carrier on the horizon before being sent to the bottom.

Carriers don't float alone, so good luck with that.

Meh. It's just meaningless dick measuring / posturing.

Like when we paraded our military along the Russian border a week ago.

The first pic show four Strykers that were part of a convoy of vehicles that were mostly Estonian, but also included some Dutch and German vehicles.

The second pic shows absolutely no U.S. soldiers. They are all Estonian.

My brother was on the USS Enterprise during this incident in 1988. Interestingly, he tells the story almost EXACTLY like this timeline of events, particularly when discussing the attack by the A-6 on the Iranian frigate Sabalan:
5:15 p.m.: The Iranian frigate Sabalan fires at an A-6, which dodges the missile and returns to drop a 500-pound bomb down the ship’s exhaust stack, leaving it dead in the water. Top U.S. defense officials in Washington, who are monitoring the fight, decide not to sink a third Iranian warship. They tell U.S. ships and aircraft to lay off Sabalan, and Iranian tugs eventually tow the damaged frigate back to the Bandar Abbas naval base.
They played the A-6's nose mounted camera footage on the Enterprise's closed circuit TV system after it returned....we laughed about the Iranians' ineptitude....and it looks like, in almost 30 years, they've learned absolutely nothing about naval warfare.

It's Iran...

The same country that made up their space program, and built a GI Joe plane out of some MIG pieces, the cockpit from a Sega After-Burner arcade unit, and an Apple II.

At this point I can only assume they are trying as hard as they can to become the most laughed at country in the world.

Besides Canada, of course.

Yeah, gotta love conks. In one breath they're an exestential threat to Israel and the rest of the western world, in the next they couldn't even take on Togo. :silly:

If only there was some system to find out about an incoming threat and intercept it with some kind of projectile. Hmmm.......

makes my dick hard.

A lot cheaper to conquer Iran with rock n roll. Not much profit in it but I guess you can't have everything.

There's a very high likelihood they'd blow up their OWN country in the process of developing the bomb.

They finally got the software to work? Some of the engineers on the phalanx program used to say that it would give you just enough time to kiss your ass goodbye

That system didn't do so well in Battleship...and that was against a bunch of slow moving flying alien attack cans.

When those spinning metal things came at us, we didn't have any answers either.

Disappointing. :ohno:

Don't argue with Rambo. His brothers went to Vietnam.

BTW so did I - USS Blakeley FF-1072, USS Samuel Eliot Morrison FFG-13, USS Fahrion FFG-22.

CIWS works pretty good, but the SM-2 ER can reach out and get them in a different time zone.
