Barbara Mikulski is not running for re-election in '16. I didn't agree with some of what she stood for, but she is one of the democrats that I have voted for repeatedly. She stood up for the things she thought was right for the people of Baltimore and Maryland over her 5 terms. This wasn't a secret. The State legislature tried to take away the power of replacing a retiring senator from the Governor last year, unsuccessfully. It'll be an interesting election cycle for Marylanders with a Senate seat wide open.
One must believe with O'Malley falling on his face in the '16 early Presidential consideration, 0 votes in Iowa( ) recently. He would be the front runner for the Democrats. Personally, I'd like to see the Honorable Elijah Cummings run and allow someone to run in my district to have two people to choose from.

She was a good senator. As far as I'm concerned, she represented us well over the years. I disliked Sarbanes, he did nothing. Cardin is more of the same. I voted for Mikulski, but against the other retards.
