A Question for Obama

Since the media are having fun doing asking Scott Walker things like whether he believes in Evolution or if Obama's a Christian I think it'd be a great idea for them to ask Obama something of similar nature and relevance.

How about some reporter asking Obama this out of nowhere:
Mr. President, you say you are a Christian. Do you believe Jesus actually died, stayed in the tomb for three days, then rose from the dead? Do you believe that really physically happened?
That'd be right in line with the kind of stuff they've been asking Republicans. And if Obama wants to say he's really a Christian, he has to say "yes." If he says "no" he's saying he's not a Christian after all.

So c'mon media! Let's put your Man Crush on the same kind of spot you've been putting Republicans like Walker on.

First things first. The NCAA basketball tournament is coming up and we need to see his bracket. :jack:

The next time a reporter asks a politician (any politician) a detailed question about the resurrection
will be the first time...

I think you missed the point of what he was saying.

Scott Walker, in the space of two weeks, has been asked (by serious reporters) whether or not he believes in evolution, and whether or not he thinks Barack Obama is a Christian.

THem's some journalisms right there

Walker is a legitimate Conk threat right now. It's the media's job to play gotcha journalism and trip him up with non sequiturs and asinine questions. Once he misspeaks, then they'll paint him as some Neanderthal whacked out off the reservation extremist. :coffee:

It's what they do.

Mr. President, how is that not a single Wall Street executive was prosecuted?

Mr. President, why is it that Lawrence Summers, Paul Rubin, and Timothy Geithner's economic vision won the day in 2009?

Mr. President, how many innocent civilians do you think have been killed in drone strikes?

Mr. President, why do you continue to support authoritarian regimes like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain?

Mr. President, how many OECD country's healthcare systems are based on a for-profit insurance model?

I can answer THAT one....

because we see what happens when we get RID of authoritarian regimes like in Iraq and Libya

Obama doesn't have to run for another nomination or for another general election.

A better gotcha question would be to ask Hillary Clinton why why she paid her male staffers more than her female staffers.

Believing women make less money than men because of some mass conspiracy by employers to me is more troubling than any kind of opinion about evolution and creationism because this issue is actually relevant to governance.

I doubt Hillary Clinton actually believes the pay gap has anything to do with discrimination, but hey, she needs the votes of clueless young liberal women.

We're not talking about relevant questions here, kalm. We're talking about questions that make politicians squirm because any kind of straight answer might make them look bad to someone.

Meh. It's not that black-and-white. You can take the Bible and the Gospel as largely metaphorical and not believe the Nicene Creed literally and still be a Christian, imo.

John is an agnostic. He probably isn't aware of the superstitions governing the various myths of how we came to be here. He's a hard-headed realist who won't be fooled about evolution by some witless preacher.

The Evolution question came up because of education standards, and other GOP candidates stating that evolution is not real.

The Christian question came up because other GOP leaders were questioning whether or not Obama is a Christian. If your party is questioning the religion of the President, and you are trying to run for President yourself, then expect questions like that. The GOP could stop this nonsense, but they would rather have a whisper campaign that Obama is a muslin. You reap what you sow.

You can't make religion a focal point, then run away from the consequences of that idiocy.
