The interviews in the video are priceless….
Thousands of protesters and counter-protesters held American flags and signs outside of a Muslim conference in Garland, Texas, on Saturday night.
"We're here to stand up for the American way of life from a faction of people who are trying to destroy us," a man protesting the conference said.
Muslim Event Prompts Protests, Security Concerns
The demonstrations began hours before the start of the program at the Curtis Culwell Center, which is operated by the Garland Independent School District.
The conference is titled “Stand With the Prophet Against Terror and Hate” and bills itself as a fundraiser to build a center dedicated to teaching Muslims how to combat negative depictions of their faith.

Yeah, probably not the best representation of fighting back extremism...
Then again, neither is the Clarion Project.

How to teach muslims how to combat negative images of their faith?
Howsabout they start by policing their own and stop cutting people's heads off or killing people over a cartoon?

Interesting that the conference was about combating negative depictions of their faith...instead of a conference about combating negative people who carry out murders in their faith's name.
Also interesting: synonyms for, dipiction: picture, painting, portrait, drawing, sketch, study, illustration
Guess they'll have to add, "cartoon."
