Police Officers Association demands NFL apology...

Apparently the St. Louis police think that the 1st Amendment only applies to them..?

:coffee:

"St. Louis police officers' group called on the NFL to punish five Rams players who stood with their hands raised before trotting onto the field for pregame introductions Sunday.

"The St. Louis Police Officers' Association said it was "profoundly disappointed" with what it called a "display that police officers around the nation found tasteless, offensive and inflammatory." It called for the players involved to be disciplined and for both the league and team to issue a "very public apology."

They want a "VERY PUBLIC APOLOGY"

I don't follow...where did they attempt to deny the NFL players 1st Amendment rights... The union is not a government entity...

With the NFL's stance on anything distracting I'm surprised they didn't quash this with the Rams. :coffee:

Don't be silly - blacks are only demographically proportionately represented in the NFL using the same hiring practices that other large companies are forced to abide by. :coffee:

How come its ok for the NFL to be 70% black, but not for the Ferguson police force to be 90% white?

What's ironic is the GJ witnesses debunked the "Hands up, Don't shoot" meme.

The protesters have moved on to a "systemic" "Black Lives Matter", generic, theme.

But, I guess the players don't keep up with current events.

EVERYBODY demands an apology these days

We are a society of pussies who can't just NOT be offended by every little thing

And BTW let's be clear about something- police associations - ESPECIALLY northern ones.... are unions, and the WORST kind of unions - just like teachers' unions - they extort government and protect bad employees. So I never expect good judgment or tact from them

I hear the new contracts allow them to file a grievance if they don't get called a hero by at least four different people every day.

Well that is simply unfair.

We need to socially engineer a government program that commits tons of Federal and State money in order to create an environment that improves the performance of white athletes. Given a level playing field, whites should be able to compete for good paying jobs in all sections of the athletic industry.

I have a brother who is an Under Sheriff and a friend who is a city manager and I can attest that this accurate.

The City Manager ended up getting rid of the entire force and contracting services out to the county.

No apology necessary. They used poor judgement, that's all.

Even the "Black Lives Matter" theme is flawed since it appears that black lives on matter when they are killed by white cops. Meanwhile, black lives continue to not matter to blacks in Chicago.

Good point. But they may want to wait until after the federal investigation and the civil trial to avoid egg on the face....
