A gunman in Austin, Texas, tried to burn down the Mexican consulate and fired more than 100 rounds at city buildings and at a police officer early today before dying of a bullet wound.

It was not immediately clear whether the shooter, identified by ABC News as Larry Steven McQuilliams, 49, was killed by police or shot himself, authorities said.

Austin Police Department Assistant Chief Raul Munguia, speaking at a news conference, said residents reported hearing shots at 2:22 a.m., and calls continued to come in as the suspect was “attacking government facilities.” Police said the timing of the attack was especially dangerous because bars were closing in downtown Austin, sending potentially thousands of people onto the streets.

I looked the guy up and I doubt he voted for Obama. But it's fine if this one guy is "conservative" politically. We all know that the overwhelming majority of violent criminal types vote Democrat or would if they could. That's why the Democratic Party is so interested in allowing convicted felons to vote.

Whatever it is it's very reasonable to assume the overwhelming majority of it goes to the Democrats. Just look at the demographics of exit polling. And contemplate associations between violent crime and demographics.

Associations between race and violent crime and between poverty and violent crime. Do you disagree that Blacks are disproportionately involved in violent crime? Do you disagree that people in poverty are disproportionately involved in violent crime?

That relates to exit polling showing that Blacks vote overwhelmingly for Democrats as do people at the lowest income level.

If you do I'll have to do some Googleing and provide documentation. If you do not then we can agree on the premise and go from there.

But, really, all you have to do is look at which party has the most interest in allowing convicted felons to vote. I realize that all felons are not violent criminal felons. But it tells you something.
