No shit. :ohno:

Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean believes Democrats suffered a bad midterm election because they lacked a clear message. “Where the hell is the Democratic party?" he asked on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday. "You've got to stand for something if you want to win."

Dean criticized Washington Democrats for never being able to stay on message, agreeing with Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., who said his party did not do a good job communicating what President Obama has done.

"The Republican message was, 'We're not Obama.' No substance whatsoever," Dean said. But after rhetorically asking himself the message from Democrats, Dean answered sarcastically "Oh, well, we're really not either."

Dean, the former chair of the Democratic National Committee who created the "50 State Strategy" for the party after its defeat in 2004, said Democrats can pick up the pieces again. However, he told moderator Chuck Todd “You cannot win if you are afraid!”

Pussies. Scared of nothing-but-obstructing assholes like Cruz, Paul, Boehner and McConnell.

:ohno: :ohno:

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Worked for the Dems last time around, why wouldn't the GOP try it? :tothehand:

You forgot REID

He's the biggest reason for the ass-whipping. Blaming Obama is not exactly fair since he is Reid's puppet.

Here he is sending in the next play to Obama from the sidelines:

If the Democrats had attempted to communicate what Obama has done it might be an even larger majority in the House and Senate.

You're fucked.

Regardless, starting a new party - The Progressive Alliance Courage Party.

Let's be honest, the Dems have basically been running on the "we're not the Republicans" mantra for awhile now. Heck, they pretty much stood by and let W's failed Presidency in the last two years of his term pave the way for their success in '08. Both parties are basically following the Al Davis playbook - "Just Win, Baby". It's about winning elections, not about running the government.

The Republican message was that Obama is a bad President and his policies are bad for America.

The Democrat message was the Republicans are right about Obama, but vote for us (Democrats) anyway because we are not Obama.

The Dem's let the GOP control the message which is why they lost so badly. They should have talked about all the things that have gone right under Obama, even if they have to stretch the truth. Doesn't have to be true, it's all about perception.

The Democrats did a great job of making every Republican out to be a closet Tea Party member
Oh how the tables have turned

And now the Liberals (like me) say well I didn't vote for him last time

This

I've never seen a party try to distance themselves from the president as much as this election. Heck, he was rebuffed to come out and stump for many of those in tight races.

Even if it was only 10 seconds, it would have been better than admitting that the leader of their party was a failure. It came across to me as weak and disloyal. If they do win they will get to DC will no allies; the GOP won't like them because they are Dems, Obama won't like them because they dissed him.

He'd sure as hell get the blame if it were tanking.

Could we get some specific examples of how Obama is destroying America like conks claimed he would? :coffee:

Yup.

I know a local Democratic operative and this is exactly the mindset. :ohno:

Should we warm up with simply listing Mr. Holder's accomplishments under his watch, or expand it to NSA overwatch and IRS targeting?

Oh, and the hokey pokey we're playing in Iraq? We got our right foot in, we got our right foot out, we got our right foot back in...... 8-)

Yawn. I'm not saying his administration has been what he said it would, but again, is the country really falling apart at the seams? Is the sky falling? :?

No. But it's like the Mariners getting another strong arm and a good hitter behind Cano and still not make the playoffs.

If the things I mentioned aren't even a little bothersome for you as a liberal then I'm not sure what your threshold is exactly.

I'd argue our foreign policy is in shambles, race relations have been set back 40+ years, and he has created an environment of class warfare between the haves and the have nots especially during the Romney contest. :twocents:
