So many returning soldiers reported finding WMD's in Iraq, despite a "no WMDS" meme having become an accepted narrative by anti-Bush, anti-war protesters.

Now, NY Times confirms numerous incidents of WMD discoveries.

My big question...why has the Pentagon kept this information (and continues to keep a large portion) classified?

In the wake of investigatory Congressional hearings specifically looking into the recovery of WMD's, why wasn't this information made public sooner?

As recent as 2011, chemical weapons were discovered in hidden caches, yet the Pentagon decides releasing that information would jeopardize national security?

This isn't anything that hasn't been known for a long time.

Saddam abandoned his WMD programs in the early 90s and did not restart them.

He didn't have "mobile WMD labs." Sanctions and UN inspections WORKED and an invasion was NOT necessary.

No, they clearly DID NOT! Post Desert Storm UN accord required Saddam to destroy his chemical weapons: He obviously had not. Hundreds of intact "active" chemical weapons including nerve agent were found stored in munition bunkers.

It is possible that they knew they would not find all of them, and saying that they found "some" would cause a huge Easter Egg hunt by radical militants and the three major Iraqi sects. The article clearly said that the one large site, where the weapons were left to the Iraqis to entomb, had NOT, been cleared. Yup, the weapons are still there...and now in the hands of ISIS.

And you think all of the bad munitions have been found and accounted for?

The Iraqis certainly know where they hid the munitions...and now some of them are revisiting those areas in order to gather some goodies for use elsewhere.

As I said, good times ahead for everyone in that area.
