A good example of the impossibility of construing the Establishment Clause as prohibiting a general preference toward religion -- instead, the state imposes a general preference toward atheism, and thus "establishes" atheism. So why wouldn't THAT violate the Establishment Clause?

kalm and the few who speak in his defense (the usual suspects, D1B and Chizzang) want the state to favor atheism over religion.

But they still accept US Currency with "God" on it. What a joke. Schools should focus on improving the quality of the education, not the type of books in its libraries.

Isn't their some sort of "Equal Access" law? I'm glad this school is cracking down on those evil teenagers and their service orientated club.

I have no problem with either case but I call complete and utter bullshit on the california story. the superintendent kept referencing sectarian materials so I'm guessing something inappropriate to the curriculum was taken away. I'm sure they haven't banned all books written by christian authors and published by christian publishers. They haven't banned Martin Luther King

Meanwhile…in other news, an Christian Indiana State Trooper is holding people against their will and forcing them to accept Jesus Christ as their savior.

It's not so much Christians being vilified as it's conservative Christians losing the culture war. The pope is a progressive, Jesus was a progressive. If this keeps up, religious progressives will soon outnumber the conservatives.
