Hope he is convicted.

This is why all cop cars need dash cams. Otherwise he could just say the dude "lunged" at him and that would be that.

Pull a guy over for a "Seat belt Violation"? (Nice)

BTW:
This officer will walk - its South Carolina - The judge probably golfs with this troopers Chief
The good ol boy network will kick into high gear

If you're looking for an argument from anyone here I don't think you'll find it. The guy did turn rather suddenly toward his vehicle, but it certainly didn't justify getting shot. This former SCHP officer needs to cut back on the Starbucks a bit IMO.

That's gonna be tough when he ends up working there. :coffee:

This. It doesn't justify getting shot but he did turn rather suddenly. Good for SCHP for firing that jagoff.

Who wants to bet that the officer still wrote him a ticket? :ohno:

Regardless of this instance, all I know is that most of us could never be cops and either do it well, or live to tell about it.

It's a thankless job and you have to always be on your guard. However, you can't go shooting when you tell someone to get their DL.

SC has a pretty good track record of getting rid of guys like this so not sure why SK felt kudos were necessary.

Please continue to tell us how underpaid cops in the state with the least civil service protections pull the marionette strings of the landed gentry

I just got back from Port Harcourt on a kidnapping case and could use the laugh

What's the issue? A cop fucked up and he's going to jail for it.

He is? Must have missed that update to the story. He was just charged Wednesday. Justice sure moves swiftly in Columbia!

I do the unnecessary work of a US Consul

you know- assisting Americans overseas

so I'm the guy who visits you in jail and protests your poor treatment when it is appropriate. Ill even bring you magazines

Ill notify your kin when you die over here and repatriate your remains

assist you in returning to the US when you are ill or destitute

produce and emergency passport for you

adjudicate the US citizenship of your kid who was born abroad

help you receive your Federal benefits overseas

assist you with absentee voting

I'm the guy who also constantly thinks about how to evacuate 50K Americans out of places like Nigeria and El Salvador and Vietnam if and when it goes to shit

so I liaise with the local government and DC and the military and commercial aviation and shipping

I investigate and stop fraud and false claims to citizenship and enforce the few immigration laws that actually do help to secure our borders

most Americans will never need me (because who needs to travel when you have cable TV) but those who have needed me have been pretty appreciative
