I kinda like how ISIS seems to be uniting all of the various adversaries from around the world against one common enemy.
You know you fucked up when you post a video calling out Russia and saying that you plan on "liberating Chechnya" and the President of the Chechen Republic basically responds with "fuck that shit!!"

ISIS won't truly go after Russia. They know full well that the Russians won't worry about niceties like making sure they aren't shooting at mosques and civilians. Chechnya isn't exactly pacified, but the Russians have killed those assholes by the bushel and will continue to do so. ISIS might seem crazy but they are not- not any more so than Al Qaeda. The only reason ISIS would play on hatred towards Russia would be to boost their recruiting from the Caucasus, but they know they cannot make any military headway there.

Assuming they actually did seize the Syrian (Russian made) jets and assuming they have some trained pilots....checking the map I can't see a viable way for them to get through to attempt to inflict any damage on Russia. From Syria through Iran? Iraq? Turkey? No good options for a group that wants to eventually overthrow the Saudi monarchy.
