An active shooter has been reported at the Fort Lee Army base in central Virginia.

According to Fort Lee's verified Twitter account, the base has been put on lockdown and personnel there have been told to enact active shooter protocols.

No other details were immediately available.

Really, really sad that "active shooter protocols" on a fucking Army Base don't include SHOOTING BACK.

A female soldier with a gun who caused a lockdown on Monday at Fort Lee in Virginia shot and wounded herself, the Army installation said in a statement after the all-clear was given.
"Early reports indicate the soldier turned the weapon on herself and fired one shot, injuring herself," the statement said. "The soldier was transported to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Her condition is not known at this time."

She gone.
An Army sergeant who shot herself in an office Monday at the Fort Lee installation near Richmond, Va., has died, the Army said.

The soldier, who has not been identified, died after barricading herself in an office inside a major command headquarters. Fort Lee officials said the soldier was pronounced dead Monday after being taken to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond. No other injuries were reported in the morning shooting.

Ft. Lee should have an active SRT Team within the MP CO. Every large Army post has one. And YES SRT are trained to shoot back.

And in the 2 minutes it took them to respond, an active shooter could take out 30 people.

The people the shooter is shooting at should be armed.

Hell if a person wants to kill someone bad enough, he will. MP's can't be everywhere at every time. Hell, shit happens.
