Thanks to a recent SCOTUS ruling, an atheist is going to lead the invocation at a town meeting in New York.

A hypothetical question…

Would you be ok with an atheist, wiccan, satanist, or muslim occasionally leading a daily prayer at your kid's school?

That obviously depends on how the convocation is delivered. If he is one of those FFRF types that doesn't understand that praying in the presence of an atheist isn't the same as actually mocking the beliefs of others and wants to be a smartass about it, then I have a problem with it.

Don't have a problem with something like an inspirational quote or "thought for the day" being put in the place of a prayer.

My kids go to Catholic schools so I'd only be OK with the Muslim above. What would an atheist prayer sound like?

I don't support prayer in public schools at school events. I do support individuals praying on their own if they can take the potential abuse.

I also support re-loading the gym teachers with paddles with holes like they had in my day
