I'm curious and maybe one of you bight eyed and bushy tailed people can look it up for me

Of all the executive orders issued by previous Presidents...

How many were orders to NOT enforce Federal laws?

(And I am not counting laws that propagated segregation or blue laws as with Prohibition)

I truly don't know the answer but I suspect this is an important detail in this meme

Easy, Cap'n. The world loves you. We're all in this together, and we're going to get through this together.

Now, do you remember what kind of acid you took? Was it sugar cube? Blotter? Windowpane? Do you remember the cartoon character?

Pluto? That's good. Now, let's go lie down...

I'm sure someone else has already said this but it's been repeated that the number of executive orders is not the issue. It's the content.

I was talking to my wife about this the other day because they were having a discussion of this on Fox News and Juan Williams, the designated liberal, brought up the argument about number of executive orders.

I turned to my wife and said something like, "GEEZE, how many times are they going to say that so the other person can say 'it's not the number it's the content.' If they want to make an argument fine. But once someone counters the argument address the counter. Good GRIEF."

If you want to argue the case, argue the content. That's where the argument is.

Google "Jonathan Turley on Obama Executive Orders" to see examples of content concerns. Turley is certainly not a right wing firebrand type. And I don't recall him contemporaneously acting concerned over previous Presidents' executive orders.

A specific example one could argue about is Obama granting an exemption to Congress and Congressional Staffers to Obamacare. I heard someone argue last night that what he did in that case was clearly directly in violation of the clear, explicit language of the law. So you could argue about whether that's true or not (at this point I don't know) then you if you get to the point where both sides agree that it was clearly in violation of the clear and explicit language of the law you could argue about whether or not other Presidents have issued executive orders like that.

But the number of executive orders is not the issue.

What's the big deal? Congress grants themselves exemptions to the laws it passes for us all the time, like hiring illegal nannies and paying under the minimum wage to their staffers.
