Anybody else see this coming? "Get out Americans....wait, just kidding....."
President Barack Obama said Thursday Iraq will need more help from the United States as it seeks to push back a violent Islamic insurgency that has captured two key cities and is vowing to press toward Bagdad.

Obama did not specify what type of assistance the U.S. would be willing to provide, but said he had not ruled out any options.

"We do have a stake in making sure that these jihadists are not getting a permanent foothold in either Iraq or Syria, for that matter," Obama said during an Oval Office meeting with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

With all the tribal warfare and sectarian violence that has occurred there over the centuries it was a no-brainer that the vacuum we created in our exit would be filled by someone else. I guessed Iran. :coffee:

I see two options:

1- Let them just have a civil war for the rest of our lifetimes & stay the hell out of it.

2- Nuclear testing ground.

We could always draw a red line. That's proven to be effective. :coffee:

This is the latest chapter in a war that has been going on since the Shia-Sunni schism

if we begin to interfere now we will come into direct conflict with Iran (although we have technically been there already.... Iran produced some pretty high tech and nasty IEDs to be used on us in Iraq)

Come to think of it, maybe this would be a good opportunity to repay the Quds Force the favor

That statement is 100% true, but of course, you're too lazy and dense to actually research it.

Biden on Iraq: "I think it’s gonna be one of the great achievements of this administration."

So Biden gives ownership of the US being in Iraq to the Obama admin at the same time as saying ti will be a great success.. :?

Crazy Uncle Joe steps in it again.. :dunce:

Nothing to be concerned with our president is hard at work
As Iraq Falls To ISIS, Obama Jets To Palm Springs To Fundraise And Golf…

His priorities seem a tad out of whack.

(Press Enterprise) – President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama land at Palm Springs International Airport just after 6 p.m. Friday, straight from a visit to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.

At 8:25 a.m. Saturday, they’ll jump over to Laguna Beach for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, followed by the commencement address to UC Irvine’s Class of 2014 at Angel Stadium.
The Obamas will return to the desert by about 2:10 p.m. Saturday, staying for Father’s Day, before flying home to Washington, D.C., about 10 a.m. Monday. It’s unclear if their daughters, Malia and Sasha, will tag along.

What is Obama’s plan here in the Coachella Valley? Presumably a short vacation, and likely a round of golf or two – though the details remain fuzzy.

Iraq will be okay. The strength of that country is its diversity.
