Cali Liberals Want to Regulate College Sex

If you're on campus, "heat of the moment sex" would be outlawed under pending SB 967, which would criminalize most dorm room sex.
While the idea of eliminating date rape sounds good, the way they go about this would make it easier to run up a sex partner for rape if one merely regrets the act the next day. What the bill writers are asking is that both partners verbally consent before, during, AND AFTER. That's HIGHLY impractical.
Liberals revealing their true colors: control freaks....

Says "Liberty" University alum. Most ironic name for a school ever.
Liberty University administrators allow students to attend movie theaters, but they must exercise caution in such a morally hazardous environment. R-rated films are strictly off-limits, and many PG-13 and even some PG films may also be deemed inappropriate for viewing by Liberty students.
All posters and pictures in the residence halls should coincide with the standards and policies of the University, i.e., all posters and pictures should conform to the University's music, movie, dress and conduct standards.
Students are warned that "Resident Directors and Resident Assistants will check rooms on a regular basis to give guidance, answer questions and ensure compliance." And if you live off campus, you shouldn't get any ideas.
Respect While Dating/Social Behavior
All students are asked to display mature Christian behavior in social interaction. Proper respect must be shown to all individuals at all times. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated. Handholding is the only appropriate form of personal contact. Improper personal contact or other forms of public display are considered in poor taste. After dusk, students should not be alone with an individual of the opposite sex in any unlighted area such as the ball fields, parking lots, parked cars, ravine or other wooded areas, etc. This is considered improper social behavior.
Restricted Areas on Campus
A student may not be alone with an individual of the opposite sex in the academic classrooms or offices. Students may not enter the residence halls of the opposite sex. After dusk, a student may not be alone with an individual of the opposite sex in any unlighted area, such as the ball fields, the ravine, parking lots, parked cars, etc.
The Liberty Way sets out a regimen of fines and reprimands for, among many other things, attending a dance, drinking, entering a residence hall for members of the opposite sex, and so on. Here are some highlights, including "Two or more individuals of the opposite sex together in motel room."
30 Reprimands + $500.00 Fine + 30 hours Disciplinary Community Service + possible Administrative Withdrawal. NOTE: For each accumulation of six (6) or more reprimands after 30, an additional $150 fine will be assessed.
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages
Refusal to submit to an "Alco-Sensor" test and/or drug test
Spending the night with a person of the opposite sex
Two or more individuals of the opposite sex together in motel room

I didn't say I condone the practice. I'm just calling out hypocrisy when I see it. A guy would be better off avoiding women altogether if this is going to be the outcome. And you KNOW it's going to happen....

Plenty of colleges ban on campus sex...difference is it's usually a religious school. Government has overstepped reasonable boundaries when it legislates sex between consenting adults.
One of the problems when there are no checks/balances...in CA, the leftislature redefined the meaning of political expediency...
...defeating the purpose of our constitution.

Every time I see something like this I think back to an episode I was involved in where the woman wanted to have a rape fantasy where she'd be saying "no" and kind of resisting then have me overpower her. Then after penetration she'd start exclaiming "YES."
People who think "no" necessarily means "no" are just flat wrong. Women will indeed say or imply "no" at times when that's not really what they mean. Of course, if you're smart in today's context you're not going to take any chances. But we've gone way too far in trying to make the law handle situations like that. And I'm firmly on the side of those who say that if a woman doesn't want to risk having a guy misinterpret her intentions it's her responsibility to avoid putting herself into a situation where she has to worry about that.
Not many will openly say that now. But I will. Yes a woman does have a responsibility to avoid putting herself at risk if she doesn't want to have sex. If she doesn't want to have sex she shouldn't put herself into situations that can lead to sex. And she shouldn't get a guy all excited thinking he's about to have sex then all of a sudden shut the spigot. If she doesn't want to have sex she should make it very clear up front before it ever gets to that point.

If filling out some consent form would keep me from going to a campus sexual assault kangaroo court, I'd sign it. Glad I'm out of college because sexual assault policies are only going to get more
batshit insane with this administration and justice department.

If you never plan to attend LU, then I would say none of this is your concern.

Correct. If you don't want to adhere to a particular school's code of conduct don't go to that school.
Not the same thing at all as criminalizing misinterpreting your potential sex partner's intentions when it's reasonable to do so.

NOTE: ONLY THE LAWYERS WIN here on this one
Here's what the stupid politicians are trying to accomplish...
A girl gets drunk - has sex - is no worse for wear the next day
a) That afternoon she feels violated
b) and decides she's pissed off because he still hasn't called her back
At that moment the male in the sexual encounter is potentially a criminal
Even if he too was drunk - and not necessarily predatory but just doing what young people do
(and have done for centuries)
Now it is contingent for all parties involved to have a signed document - prior to having casual sex
and ONLY the LAWYERS WIN
