It's none of our business so why is this even news in the US?

I was reading an interesting email from a guy who works in the fossil fuel industry...
At one point he says: "and thank god for Islam otherwise we'd have the impossible task of acquiring military support for our ventures in the middle east...Islam solves that problem"
Islam: The gift that keeps on giving

My mom went to college with a lady from India - when she converted to Christianity from Hinduism, she was given 20 minutes to gather her stuff, that was as long as they would give her before her brothers would kill her.

Just as all wars are about money, all religions are about control.

I was reading an interesting article about a guy who used the taxpayer funded internet to start a business and then he tried to gain a monopoly over computer operating systems.
Businesses using and trying to control the internet: a gift that keeps on giving.

BTW, no worries Alphie, Obama will straighten all of this out quickly. He'll condemn Sudan, authorize the use of select military force...drones, combined with a combination of coalition building, arms supplying, sanctions imposition against the rulers, finger waiving, and line drawing.
Results should be forthcoming rather quickly, as evidenced in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, and a half dozen other countries.

So what?
It's none of our business, if she doesn't like it maybe she should go down, buy a gun and make things a little more even?

But that was the term trotted out ad nauseum when it was pointed out that the 9/11 gang were Islamists - still is thrown out there.

I guess it would have been smarter to pack and move prior to converting?

That ^ is spot on...
and who "converts" from one religion to another - I've always been baffled by that
I can't even imagine how the conversation in one's own head must carry on
Religion A: Here's our pile of completely made-up stuff
Religion B: and Here's our shiny pile of also completely made up stuff
A) Ours if from the Bronze Age - it's got ancient fables
B) Well ours is from the Iron Age - we've remodeled the fables
These "customers" shopping for a new faith must be the same people who buy used cars from a used car salesman... It's one thing to be indoctrinated as a child into a religion of somebody else choosing... but then to fall for the same trick twice is a measure of stupidity and gullibility reserved for a select few on earth
I had a guy tell me once: "I was Hindu but now I'm Mormon"
I just about fell out of my chair

I can understand going from Judaism to Christianity or Islam. But how you go backwards is beyond me.

This one sat with me for awhile before I re-responded. So you say you believe in God? Some sort of Gaia-esque type God.
Would that God ask you to belittle others who don't believe the same as you? Because that is what you are doing.
I find it really hard to stomach your God Cleats. You feel the need to belittle anything you don't believe in - like you could even begin to understand God, even if your version is correct.
I find it unfathomably difficult to believe you understood the Bible. Must be that Ivy league liberal slant that taught you all you need to know.
Where is your humility? Apparently, your faith does not teach that.
That is a swell belief you got there, I can see why the door isn't being beaten down.

And that's just it precisely... thank you
I love the idea of God but don't know (actually know) anything about God
I don't claim to have seen God
I don't claim to know what god is thinking
And I don't claim to know what God wants - I make no such claims
I'll leave all that up to you guys with the Ancient texts and gibberish and judgement day etc.
I'll leave that up to those who CLAIM to know all about what God wants
In the meantime you speak of my humility..? Because I make fun converts (really)
imagine if the converts were originally correct and Religion X____ was the infallible word of God
And now that have forsaken the one true God and switched over to God Y______ and will burn in everlasting hell...
And yet I sleep and night... fearless and unafraid of the rapture
One has to maintain a sense of humor about these things

Neither do I. But I done belittle people who don't think exactly like me.

cmon chitz
the little people need their ideas of God too
just like the sandpeople out in eastern WA need their mountain dew to your latte
their honey boo boo to your masterpiece theater
their monster truck rallies to your soccer
their huntin an fishin to your trips to whole foods
their 89 camaros to your 98 saab
