I'd think about finding a different line of work after a smackdown like that.

He didn't "slap down" anybody. He just went on a tirade. A bunch of unsubstantiated bloviating
And Texas is Willie Nelson country. Not the midwest.
Also, we don't know whether or not the "conversation" continued after his tirade. For all we know the guy he was talking to cleaned his clock once he had a chance to talk.
He's also completely wrong. A cheerleader for the entitlement mentality. The idea that you should be guaranteed a basic "floor" below which you cannot fall is complete crap.

You need to get out more, John, you're embarrassing yourself. The whole world is Willie Nelson country.
You can get the full 20 minute transcript and see that yes, indeed, a tea party halfwit got his ass handed to him when he tried to belch his tea party nonsense in a debate with the Prez of Ireland.
The most telling part was his aside about the number of young Americans backpacking in Europe and how the Europeans are glad to have them back.

yipyipyipyipyipyipyipypi1961!yipyipyipyipfeelsguilty!yipyipyipyipyipyipyipNewZealandyipyiypyip!
The program was a debate in Ireland about Irish politics, which apparently the tea party halfwit thinks he has a chance with. The crowd reaction says it all...
You're not even trying anymore, cuck.

It was 66-67 as a student and 81-82 as a visiting professor...
...talk about being out of touch

BTW, thanks for going with my quote about you yapping like a little dog.

I used that line a long time ago, let it go, but now you've proven me to be a prophet.
Back to the subject: yes...imagine a show where the sheeple in the audience clap for their heroes. Springer, Degenerate, Arsenio...the list goes on. Of course, applause means acceptance and correctness to some dumb people.

I think that if I was the President of one of the PIGS of Europe I'd be less rabid about Sarah Palin and a little more concerned about how the economic policies of EU outliers like Ireland are hurting their own people. The Greeks are already the new serfs of Europe and Ireland and Portugal aren't far behind.
A policy maker (arguable that the president of Ireland makes any policy outside of Brussels but work with me here) in a rant about some snarky broad who will NEVER make policy. Brilliant

61...or 66-67. You really think that difference matters?
Even he said, "I was a professor in Illinois at the end of the 70s." You say it was 81-82.
Yip-yap-yap...houndpuppy just can't stop trying to sound important.

Funny, considering Ireland was the poster child for low taxes and deregulation, pre-crisis.
If wager everyone in that audience has better grasp of economics than the rank and file tea partiers, not to mention Palin.

You are talking about the 1990s Irish surge. They've come a long way, Baby.
But for somebody who likes to tell everybody else how they don't understand something you just posted... you are missing the irony here.
Why should the president of Ireland give two sh!ts about Sarah Palin? As has been said in this forum before, if economic policy alone was the Tea Party's platform, then they would be viable. Now you are saying that Tea Partiers are ALSO economically illiterate in addition to foamy mouthed racists? Irealnd is in trouble TODAY, and it is because of economic policy, some of which is generated in Brussels but considering what they frittered away I don't think the Irish need to be lecturing anybody.

Details..

Why don't you tell us the details, HD? You and Klam are giving the Irish economy the "it's because of a video" glossing here

Wtf does that mean?

What's "because of a video"?
I just pointed out the verbal bitch slapping that took place when the President of Ireland had a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent, and that maybe getting into Irish politics wasn't a good carrer move for the poor sod. Young cuck leaped in with his usual change of subject.

OK, let me rephrase, then.
What do you mean by "details" followed by your laffy face?
Sounds like you meant "I don't know much about nothin but I know I have to agree with Klam."

Deregulation and tax cuts lead to boom, then collapse. Taxpayers bail out banks with higher VAT. Similar situation to a certain other country. Way off the point of my original post, but that's a pretty standard tactic for you. Maybe you could start your own thread about the Irish economy instead of highjacking mine about a tea party halfwit with no debating skills?

Ireland's economic troubles TODAY were not caused by the same sovereign policies that sunk Greece. Not all PIIGS are the same was my point. Tea partiers would have favored Ireland's economic development but they still ended up in trouble. (And I know, some of it has to do with eurozone currency and monetary policy.)
As for your other butt hurt, I singled out Baldy, not everybody else, for an issue he was displaying some ignorance on. A tactic you've NEVER used before, I'm sure.

That's just kalms usual tactic of obfuscation when he gets his hand caught in the cookie jar.

a huge portion of the Ireland, Greek and Portuguese economies exist "underground"
The people aren't as bad off as they might appear on the surface
an excellent example of this is Italy - where quite literally - to escape their governments tax grip the most vital portions of the economy have almost completely gone underground with the bulk of untaxable transactions happening every day
It's a fascinating study really... when governments over tax the economy moves "elsewhere"

In the cases above: ^ Ireland / Portugal / Italy / Spain
The business didn't leave the country it simply went underground (hidden) transactions happening below the taxable surface
In America we fear our large corporations will actually "exit" the country
In Europe something quite different has happened

Businesses aren't gonna leave our markets, just the tax obligations, labor, regulatory parts, right?

And go where..?
Everything that can go to China has already gone to China
and I'm not entirely convinced U.S. corporations are over taxed here / the U.S. is still regarded as a business friendly atmosphere - even though we're urged to believe it's on the edge of total breakdown under the stress of over taxation...
I don't quite buy that - but - I'm open for debate

That's true. We ARE a business friendly country, but for things like the service industries, .coms, retail and very high end niche manufacturing.
I don't think we are on the verge of a total breakdown- I think it already happened around 25-30 years ago and we just didn't notice. That's when our heavy industries began moving overseas. Like you said, the stuff that was capbable of going to China has already gone- and those were our most strategic industries- heavy alloys, components, you name it. Those are the kinds of industries that in addition to being strategic, also employ large numbers of Houndawgs and Klams and keep them happy with a pig in the pot and a Model T in the garage.
