A co-worker of mine has a 2013 Ford Escape
A vehicle that Ford and the entire auto industry considers a HUGE success

Here is an image of the interior of a 2013 Escape with a freshly FILLED tank of gas... Notice anything?

It's not as large or as bad ass as the Tesla?

Oh, I thought you were looking for something less obvious However, the Escape is about $45k less and gets about 50 gallons more than the cheapest Tesla ($69k and about 200 miles)

More and more stations are added each month.

Looking at that map, there's no way I could make it up to my MIL's place in the UP in Michigan.

ZERO stations in the UP.

12 hour drive (so the recharging would add more time), and then once past Flint/Bay City, you'd have to go way the hell out of the way (40+ miles to recharge (although I could visit DSURocks in Traverse City, MI ).

Quit being an elitist. An Escape would be a dream car for most 'Mericans.

My mother in law has had an Escape since 06...an 06, 08, and now a 12.

I can tell you that she gets about 25 MPG for the driving she does. It has a 17.5 gallon tank.

25*17.5=437.5

What the fuck kind of driving are they doing that they are getting 260 miles to a full tank?

The 03 F150 I occasionally drive for work gets 17 mpg...with a 25 gallon tank I can get about the same 425 ish miles out of it.


The 13 Escape as a 15 gallon tank and averages between 22-30 MPG depending on model and drive style. On the low side thats 350ish miles.

Again...Something seems off.

My father in law has a 2013 Fusion that I've driven some...I would love that car as well...I can tell you it is fun as hell to watch the real time MPG/distance to E on that. If I let off the gas to coast my MPG jumps to 99.9 with a couple hundred extra miles to E but once I touch the gas it will drop to about 5MPG until it settles in.

1. Shopped
2. Having a sensor issue
3. Just filled up and the distance is catching up with reading how full the tank is (Which happens)

After looking at the picture again, I believe Ivy was looking at the little gauge that shows the picture of the gas pump...and there is a line with an arrow next to it on that image that appears to indicate the gas pump isn't totally full.

An honest mistake, but if you are signing a contract, or letting Ivy pick up the bill, you might want to double check everything he reviews.
