The Sochi Olympics concluded barely a month ago, but according to a local photographer, the Olympic Village and surrounding hotels are already a ghost town.

Alexander Valov, who runs "Blog Sochi," captured photos that depict a desolate Sochi, with infrastructure already breaking down and some construction never completed. Clearly, Russia's priorities are elsewhere with Sochi complete and crises in Ukraine and Crimea. And, yes, photos can be taken at certain times of day or from certain angles to communicate agendas. Even so, these pictures depict a city that has a long way to go in order to meet gaudy promises of becoming a world-class tourist destination.

There's a bunch of isues being taken with the quality of the field surfaces by countires already. There's 1 or two locations that countries are publicly praying they don't get put in.

That shit is going to go down hill faster than either China or Sochi.

London is apparently turning their Olympic village into an actual village
http://metro.co.uk/2012/08/14/london-20 ... ow-535121/

the park and surroundings will be transformed into five neighbourhoods with up to 8,000 new homes, three schools, nine nurseries and 29 playgrounds.

New residents will be moving into the athletes’ village as early as next summer as part of a grand plan to regenerate one of London’s poorest areas and ensure it benefits from the legacy of the Games.

Organisers hope 8,000 permanent jobs will be created by 2030 with more than a third of the population living in affordable homes.

Many of the eight venues will also be opened for use by the community.
And most of the venues are still in use...or being recycled into other venues.

Well who are you including in that then? Because Greece's 2004 Olympic village is an abandoned shambles.
