Hope they make this for 10mm in the future, will definitely be buying bulk to stock up my 40 and 45 home defense rounds.

Interesting little round. Wonder how it would handle going through coats and whatnot?

And you are correct, 10mm is superior to all autos. I own 2 and am looking for another.

Maybe I just don't get it, but why does he compare two direct hits with segmenting .22 rounds to a single 9MM segmenting round? Seems like in a firefight making one direct hit would be ideal. Also, why would penetration of 3-4" inside the gelatin not be a debilitating wound? On me, that would put fragmentation squarely in my guts, heart, or lungs.

I'm not looking to start anything, but I have a question: If you own a gun for personal protection/home defense, have you ever had to use it for that purpose?

Just stop Ibanez...starting your sentence with "I'm not looking to start anything" means you are trying to start something.

I have not, but I point you to the many many many folks across the country that protect themselves daily against intruders. We can only hope that each and every one of the intruders are killed dead onsite, to save someone else from having to go through that and not to clog up courts and give them a chance to get out.

CORVALLIS - The Missoula man who was shot and killed while burglarizing a home near Victor has a long criminal past. And the investigation so far indicates the homeowner did nothing wrong.

The man who was shot and killed early Monday morning has been identified as 39-year-old Tobias Ian Bishop of Missoula.

Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman says Bishop was burglarizing at least two Victor area homes when he was killed.

That ammunition is a gimmick and does nothing as advertised.

theres been a lot of ink spilled on this ammo and the general consensus is it is shit. no
kinetic force at all, wont penetrate bone thicker than 1/8 inch (meaning headshots not necessarily fatal). this is a crap round and is getting attention because it looks "cool". wont knock anyone down though. they just bleed to death

Get a heavy grain hollow point round.

That is kind of what I was getting at about asking how it goes through a coat and a couple shirts.

:tothehand: You stop. I have to qualify my statement b/c some on here will go off on me for asking the question. It was a serious question, have you ever had to use a gun.

For self defense, not yet, hope never. BUT, I will always be pro-gun because defending myself, family, friends comes first and the cops are always 10 minutes away.

Aren't you worried about through-and-through? Guess I didn't ask what type of bullet you have loaded, but something that will penetrate with expansion is my choice...that I don't have to worry too much about punching a hole in my house and hitting my neighbor if I shoot an intruder.

I'm pro-Gun as well. I'm all for being proactive, especially when it comes to defense. There are some crazy, stupid and/or dangerous people out there.

I've used a gun once for self defense, I was about 15, home alone and heard someone break a window. I grabbed the shotgun my dad had, walked downstairs and saw some guy in black. He turned and ran.

Not to worried. I live in a canyon, in the woods on 5 acres and if the dogs still humping everything it can catch after the intruder has been taken care of, I don't care where the slug ends up if the dog turns on me!

Actually, I like the thought of my heavy slug. I've never needed it but ain't no one hiding behind a wall. Also have 12 gauge and various "other" weapons in my bedroom.

Through-and-through would be a problem if I lived somewhere else. In that case I'd get the 410 "Judge" but I'm really not worried about intruders where I live. "Critters".......now that's a different story!
