Economics Makes You Sociopathic

Interesting studies which explain quite a bit. Turns out people like Friedman, Hayek, Sowell, and Blankfein really do believe their own bullshit. JSO will NOT like the remedies suggested by the Wharton School business prof. Classic egalitarian mind re-training.

Where do you stand on the positive driving force of greed? Is empathy for suckers?

.....Deeeeescuss.

Until then, we may be dooming students and society to a fate foreshadowed by Nobel Prize-winning economist and philosopher Amartya Sen. Calling economists "rational fools," Sen observed: "The purely economic man is indeed close to being a social moron."

The study doesn't make any sense - there are tons of examples in that study of what happens when students are asked whether they would share their own money or hoard it - the premise is flawed, students don't have their own money, they have either debt or their parent's money. Until it's their own money we don't really know how they would react, economist or not. :coffee:

Economists don't strike me as being much different from astrologers.
