Cool vid - I have pics from a lot of those places, although we didn't see any wolves while there.

We did see ~ 25,000 Grizzlies congregated a few hours North, however.

I found them to be pretty easy to get along with despite all the warnings you hear.

I posted that clip because it looks like Washington State is interested in re-establishing wolves in a few more areas due to the success it's having in valley and flood plain restoration in upper elevations...
Note:
In 2012 (Washington State) there were 17 instances of cattle (livestock) being killed by wolves
The ranchers are compensated of course - but they are still an angry lot - that would have you believe that it happens every day
On Jan. 1, 2011
There were 1.09 million cattle located in Washington State on some 11,000 ranches and farms

No, they blamed the overpopulation of elk which resulted from them having too few natural predators for close to a century. It's really a pretty simple concept...

Wolves reintroduced. Chased deer up into mountains and out of the valleys...killed off coyotes.... Valleys revegetated, trees grew, beaver, otter, etc., showed up, more rabbits, more eagles, fuck they (wolves) were even able to affect the flow of rivers. Explain to me what I missed?
They're a-fucking-mazing...

This reminds me of when biologists and ecologists tried to explain that harvesting of trees right down to the waterline was killing the salmon...
The response from lumber Companies was something like: "The Salmon don't live in the forest"
Too fucking hilarious!!!!
