And you wonder why people are tuning out religion more and more every day.......

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/b ... ault-rifle" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Last fall, the Family Research Council's Jerry Boykin spoke at the WallBuilders' Pro-Family Legislators Conference where he declared that when Jesus comes back, he'll do so carrying an AR-15 assault rifle. As Boykin explained once before, Jesus was a tough guy and real "man's man," and that is because he is a warrior who will come back covered in the blood of his enemies and carrying an assault rifle ... which is why every Bible believing Christian must own one as well.

The Lord is a warrior and in Revelation 19 is says when he comes back, he's coming back as what? A warrior. A might warrior leading a mighty army, riding a white horse with a blood-stained white robe ... I believe that blood on that robe is the blood of his enemies 'cause he's coming back as a warrior carrying a sword.

And I believe now - I've checked this out - I believe that sword he'll be carrying when he comes back is an AR-15.

Now I want you to think about this: where did the Second Amendment come from? ... From the Founding Fathers, it's in the Constitution. Well, yeah, I know that. But where did the whole concept come from? It came from Jesus when he said to his disciples 'now, if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.'

I know, everybody says that was a metaphor. IT WAS NOT A METAPHOR! He was saying in building my kingdom, you're going to have to fight at times. You won't build my kingdom with a sword, but you're going to have to defend yourself. And that was the beginning of the Second Amendment, that's where the whole thing came from. I can't prove that historically and David [Barton] will counsel me when this is over, but I know that's where it came from.

And the sword today is an AR-15, so if you don't have one, go get one. You're supposed to have one. It's biblical.

Upon further review, while you can dismiss right wing watch, the quotes come from the hysterical and hate-filled Family Research Council, a heavy for the Christian right and very influential. It's surprising to see people like Dobson on Facebook, to see Tony Perkins on news shows, etc. :ohno:

That said, why wouldn't Jesus come back with chemical weapons, drones, etc. he definitely needs to modernize his weaponry if he's gonna be a warrior.

I just find it ironic that these so-called "progressive" types concentrate their focus and all their hate and concern on these fringe "Christian" nobodies who aren't going to do anything while they totally ignore the actual religious wackjobs who are actually out there in the world toting actual AK-47's, and actually blowing themselves up and killing people in the name of their so-called God. :?

Brother Baldy,
Your point is taken, but I'll explain some things about RightWingWatch. First, everything posted there is true - their sources are those whackjobs themselves. Second, I use their articles to highlight the fact to everyone (but, especially, "undecided" or ignorant folks and newbies in this forum) that these people exist and the things they do are harmful to the culture. They impact policy which affects you and me and everyone else because many of the charactwers cited are state or national figures. As such, and third, not a lot of people are aware of RWW, so I am giving them some "air time", as they perform a valuable informational service.
There is NO ONE here on CS who defends what the radical Islamists you bring up do. I invite you to see through your hate and recognize that which is just down the street from you at that innocent-looking Evangelical Christian (white) church, where members are stockpiling guns and readying for the culture war they enthusiastically welcome (and for the success of which, our African-American president must be assassinated).

Thank you.

Cap'n Cat hath spoken.
Long live Cap'n Cat

and are "fighting the Taliban" (wink wink) in Afghanistan
and busily re-building Democracy in Iraq where previously the evil Empire of all World Terror lived

How much more can we do...?

There is NO ONE on CS who defends or supports the insignificant bile you and the intolerant Cro-Magnons at RWW attempt to highlight.

As much as you and the mouth breathers who think like you wish there were radicalized sects of evangelical Christians stockpiling guns at every church on every street corner, I'm sad to report to you that it just ain't happening. Even those people are smart enough to see that Obama can't even get out of the bed every morning without kicking himself in the bag. He is the laughing stock of the world. Why mess that up?

So sayeth your daddy. :tothehand:

The article failed to mention that Boykin is a retired LT. General...

Good thing these types are insignificant freaks, and not in positions of influence. :coffee:
