Pretty sure "uppity n*****" is grounds for the use of deadly force in much of the South.
Not sure if Jacksonville qualifies... but, seems that way...

You know I'll admit it's weird that the jury would do three counts of attempted murder while not convicting of murder but everything I'm seeing is the guy is going to get at least 60 years. He's not going to live for another 60 years. My understanding is that if he'd been convicted of murder in this case he'd have gotten life in prison. I don't know why because Florida does have the death penalty but that's what I'm reading. So basically he's getting life in prison and that's the most he could've gotten.
So I'm not seeing what the big bottom line deal is.
