Never been a pot user, but if they legalize it, I'd give it a shot based on rave reviews I have heard!

White Americans are also less supportive of legalization proposals (favoring them by a 6-point margin) as compared to African American and Hispanic respondents, who favor legalization by 19 and 17-point margins, respectively.

So I wonder if nanny state politicians of Bloomberg's slant will go after dope like they do cigarettes and trans fats once it's legal?

BTW I think it ALL should be legal.

Said it before...pot's worse than booze...

...in excess, both destroy families and lives...

...difference is...the drunk wakes up and asks, "What am I doing?"...

...the stoner wakes up and asks, "Where's my pipe?"

Denial and rationalization is much worse for pot abusers.

This past Monday, I spoke with an old friend who confided his house is in foreclosure...

...he spends almost $500/mo on pot. When I suggested he reform himself and stop getting high, he replied, "No...I NEED pot to maintain."

At 54 yrs (divorced, empty nester), he'll be moving in with his 70's parents next month.

Everything in moderation.

Freedom of choice, and that includes the freedom to ruin one's life. :coffee:

This a fantastically dumb post.

Smoking $500 of weed in a month is almost impossible.

Rationalization of what? Haven't smoked pot regularly since college.

And tell us, T-man, how many deaths occur per year as a direct or indirect result of smoking pot versus drinking alcohol?

I personally have witnessed 4 people under the age of 25 die from accidents resulting from marijuana intoxication. 3 in auto accidents, 1 falling from a second floor window. I personally have witnessed many hundreds of marijuana abusers destroy their lives (loss of job, family, assets, professional credentials...etc) due to their abuse.

Any suggestion of legalization is pure ignorance.

Not saying you don't have "the right" to get high in private. I am saying users who deny or argue against the detrimental effects of marijuana use are in denial.

Look at the response to my above post...

...enough said.

That alcohol is more dangerous than pot, and it's not even close. Anyone who argues against that is in denial. :coffee:

A guy I knew in college fell off a second floor balcony after getting plastered on his birthday, landed on his head, ended up in a coma, and was beyond lucky to survive at all. I assume this anecdote will inspire you to lead a new prohibition charge?

Exactly  Talk about being behind the (high) times...

Hey T, you know what? I know hundreds of people who didn't (experience your anecdotal evidence) and zero people who injured themselves on pot. :coffee:

Pot is a drug which can be abused. It can also be used recreationally with very few detrimental affects. People who abuse pot or become addicted tend to be self-medicating against depression and anxiety...just like alcohol. In other words, the drug use is a SYMPTOM.

And we haven't even started to talk about all of the medicinal positives.... :coffee:
