Despite the arrogant liberal bias to the contrary, it appears liberals are less scientifically literate than conservatives according to Yale University study.

"A recent study by Yale Law professor Dan M. Kahan indicates that members of the Tea Party are slightly more scientifically literate than the general non-Tea Party affiliated population.

That finding, which was conducted using National Science Foundation standards of literacy"

Oh JFC...the study compared the Tea Party to everyone else not just liberals. :dunce: Our stats are obviously being dragged down by the neo-cons, blue dogs, neo nazi's, and traditional conservatives.

Before you talk science and smarts smack you might want to iron out these little tidbits first. :dunce:

Not at all what it says. Quite the opposite, in fact.

From his study (which is really just a blog post on his website, I don't think it's been published or anything):
In this dataset, I found that there is a small correlation (r = -0.05, p = 0.03) between the science comprehension measure and a left-right political outlook measure, Conservrepub, which aggregates liberal-conservative ideology and party self-identification. The sign of the correlation indicates that science comprehension decreases as political outlooks move in the rightward direction--i.e., the more "liberal" and "Democrat," the more science comprehending.
