Hey, does this mean since "nuclear" is not such a bad word anymore that we can really start to look into kickstarting the nuclear industry in this country and forget this silly obsession with ethanol?

The ones ignoring precedent are the FUCKING GOP.

There have been 168 Filibusters of Presidential nominees in the history of the UNITED STATES.

86 occurred under the previous presidents.

82 occurred while Obama has been President

This is GOP obstructionism, pure and simple

EVERY Single GOP Senator should resign or be impeached. They are not worthy to be Senators.

Gee, hyperbole much? If ever there was a bipartisan problem it has been the inability for either party to work with the party in power and it's been going on for a good decade or two now, with each Congress just continuing the trend from the other Congress. The GOP is just doing what the Dems did before them, which is stifle debate and progress in the Senate. The only reason the GOP is the current holder of the title "most obstructionist" is because they are the party in the minority right now. When it changes, look again for the Dems to break the record for obstructionism, just as they did in the prior Congress.

Oh, and the filibuster stat is bogus (and undocumented, btw). Presidential nominees have been blocked even more so in the past by secret deals that never even reached the filibuster level. Filibusters represent a small sliver of the actual blockages of nominees in the past, they're just the more showy version of blocking.

Peter Gammons made an allusion to the Tsarnaev brothers referring to A-Rod. Nothing is off limits anymore.

Except the Washington R******s of course.

Not at all - it is very clear that the GOP policy from day one of the Obama administration has been to obstruct, obstruct and obstruct.

This was a stated goal of the GOP.

Take off your "non-partisan" blinders to see the reality of the situation.

The GOP and the Democrats have been obstructing one another. This is hardly a GOP problem. If those 435 fucknuts could act like adults, we wouldn't have this problem.

Considering the general competence level of Obama appointees I'm glad the GOP actually found a spine in at least this one venue.

And the Democratic announced strategy for Bush's second term was exactly the same - obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. The donks are doing this judicial nominees except for SCOTUS nominees. Grassley said when Republicans are in power they will 1 up the donks and include SCOTUS nominees..

Wait, does this mean when Republicans take back the Senate and WH that they can use the nuclear option to get rid of Obamacare? If so this is very good news indeed...

Absolutely Stunning. A U.S. Senator felt ONE way while a member of the minority party, and a DIFFERENT way while a member of the majority party. I'm shocked....just shocked, I say.

Yes both are bad, but I don't recall the Dems publicly announcing their strategy as ensuring Bush didn't get re-elected like McConnell did.

Regarding the filibuster stat, I'm sure you're right regarding back door deals and such but that doesn't make Jon's stat bogus either.

One side can be worse than another when it comes to these type of things. Or, depending on your point of view, one side can be better. The Republicans appear to be much better at unity and less inclined to compromise. This should make conks such as yourself…happy.

And yet, sheeple like Dback think it's one-sided.

I pray I'm alive to see a post-partisan America. Unfortunately, that day won't come until the country is ruined and having to rebuild herself.

Nah, you just like anal rape.

Right now, instead of working towards compromise, the Dems have just raped the process of protecting minorities. "We are more numerous...therefor you will have no say, no rights, and will succumb to our whims. You are not like us, so we will give you no say in our politics or rules of law."

That should be a very familiar position for you, from the other side. However, now you are the rapist and taker of rights by majority opinion, instead of the rape victim.

Congrats...you should be so proud of your fellow tolerant Dem Senators.
