Hey, does this mean since "nuclear" is not such a bad word anymore that we can really start to look into kickstarting the nuclear industry in this country and forget this silly obsession with ethanol?

The only reason the GOP is the current holder of the title "most obstructionist" is because they are the party in the minority right now. When it changes, look again for the Dems to break the record for obstructionism, just as they did in the prior Congress.

Oh, and the filibuster stat is bogus (and undocumented, btw). Presidential nominees have been blocked even more so in the past by secret deals that never even reached the filibuster level. Filibusters represent a small sliver of the actual blockages of nominees in the past, they're just the more showy version of blocking.

Yes both are bad, but I don't recall the Dems publicly announcing their strategy as ensuring Bush didn't get re-elected like McConnell did.

Regarding the filibuster stat, I'm sure you're right regarding back door deals and such but that doesn't make Jon's stat bogus either.

One side can be worse than another when it comes to these type of things. Or, depending on your point of view, one side can be better. The Republicans appear to be much better at unity and less inclined to compromise. This should make conks such as yourself…happy.
