Obama's Vietnam.

"KABUL – While many Americans have been led to believe the war in Afghanistan will soon be over, a draft of a key U.S.-Afghan security deal obtained by NBC News shows the United States is prepared to maintain military outposts in Afghanistan for many years to come, and pay to support hundreds of thousands of Afghan security forces.

The wide-ranging document, still unsigned by the United States and Afghanistan, has the potential to commit thousands of American troops to Afghanistan and spend billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars."

Afghanistan is a treasure house of strategically valuable rare earth elements, many of which the Chinese have a near monopoly on and some of which go for upwards of $100,000/ton. It doesn't matter who is in office we're in Afghanistan for the long haul when that kind of wealth is in play.

It's all about the resources...
Even the U.S. conquest of central america was about fruits and vegetables (as sad as that seems)
The good news is we get bananas for $.69 a lb

The Soviets (during their quagmire) were using a pipeline system to export the Natural Gas out of Afghanistan

Wasn't Iraq about resources? W got fried (among other things) for the whole blood for oil thing. Why is Obama getting pass for keeping us in the Graveyard of Empires? How much of those resources are heading our way? This reeks of a double standard imo.

Americans know that oil is bad. Most Americans can't name even one rare earth element.

It ceased to be Bush's war when Obama perpetuated the military action. Bush has been out of office for 5 years, at some point Obama will HAVE TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. Why can't you see that? Why are you so damn partisan?

Really..
4 Nd + 3 O2 → 2 Nd2O3 = Neodymium / or when an alloy Nd2Fe14B

Nd Magnets are the strongest magnets known on this great Earth
a neodymium magnet can lift over a thousand times its own weight

The global automotive industry is clamoring (insanely) for Nd (Nd2Fe14B) and driven the street price up 8x in just the last 5 years

OK Klean- you need to come up to the chalkboard and write 100 times:

"I will not post non-sequiturs."

You DO know that Obama called Afghanistan the right war, right?
