If they are taking this assclown, it is doomed. Then again, why would I expect someone that isn't qualified to look for someone that is qualified for something. The blind leading the blind.....

Probably not. He can be in position to exploit the "climate change" hysteria to funnel money to his jurisdiction.

BTW unless the population of the Western United States declines there is going to be a periodic water shortage threat regardless of climate unless the climate somehow shifts to dramatically increase precipitation to levels well above the range of those prevalent during the history of the United States.

Yep. There's an ongoing battle of water rights and usage. The Washington State Dept. of Ecology uses satellite imagery to scan for illegal water uses on private property including the construction of dams, unauthorized irrigation usage, holding ponds, etc.
Much of it is population growth. The Colorado River use to flow all the way to the Sea of Cortez.

Yes. But I suppose if they can have civilization in Saudi Arabia they'll find ways to continue to sustain population growth in the Western United States. I just wish EPA wouldn't make US in places like Louisiana where there is plenty of water use smaller toilet tanks and shower nozzles that piss on you because there are too many people for the water supply in the West to support!
Thankfully the shower adjacent to my bedroom has a nozzle from the 1970s on it. I miss that thing when I travel and have to use a "piss on you" hotel shower.

I don't think I'd want to shower in water from Louisiana. That place is the filthiest state I've ever seen.

I think he is a bad mayor/administrator. He is a democrat but that is not why I don't like him. He just comes across as a complete tool and the city has a lot of stupid rules, taxes and fees and he is always crying about something. I don't live in Salt Lake but I work there and hear plenty about him.
My biggest complaint is he just isn't qualified and has no clue about climate change.

I don't get the xenophobe part but I am strongly opposed to mass immigration. Need to start sending some back and throwing illegal employers in prison. We have enough damn people.

All other things aside, my water here in the Baton Rouge area is from a deep aquifer and it's of very high quality. Very soft too. If you go away from here and wash your hair and such you miss it. Water in other areas feels "harsh" by comparison. If you ever visit Baton Rouge and take a shower you'll notice it. And you'll see that it's also very high quality drinking water. No "off" taste or smell at all. Very clean.
