Pay at least $10.00 for a pack of cigarettes! Yes, Dumberg approved it but he couldn't have done it without the help of the overwhelmingly donk city council. How is it that donks have fallen in love with such an ultra-regressive tax? :ohno:

God, are you stupid.

You want the poor smoking, huh? Filling up rooms at taxpayer expense at city/county/state hospitals.....all because of smoking? There can't be any financial deterrent to smoking?

Not sure if serious, but I'll bite. What about the people who have a smoking habit already, Cap'n? Do you think that simply tacking on outrageous tobacco taxes is going to cure a real physiological addiction?

Also, you do realize that the vast majority of people who start smoking do so before they turn 18, right? In other words, before they are really even mature enough to consider what the lifetime cost of smoking would be.

Tobacco is THE MOST addictive drug in the world....
It should be a 21 or over drug product and severely taxed

Tobacco kills more than all other drugs COMBINED
Or is the Southern Tobacco Lobby too sacred..?

I was talking with a Narcotics officer the other day and he was lamenting the fact that police have such a difficult time with cigarette smuggling. Apparently, every November, people load up on cheap cigarettes in North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. Then they go to NYC, especially in the Bronx and make close to $20,000. They only do this once, maybe twice a year so it's difficult to track and catch them.

They know what's better for the commoners than they themselves do, elitism at its finest.

People can still choose to smoke, dipshit. The idea is to discourage it by making it extremely expensive to do so. :dunce:

What will they charge for a pack of Pot when it becomes legal, or should the poor not be allowed to partake?

Well, that's just not fair.

We need a cigarette subsidy for the poor.

Surely, Dems can't be against subsidies for the poor.

Seems pretty intrusive to me. What next, asking people to show ID to vote?
